  • First on the scene at a ped/motorcycle collision this morning.

Hundreds of morons attempting to ride or drive through the scene, including one absolute twat in a black car who came close to finishing the poor lady off.

Having a cup of tea before being late to work.

  • General feeling that anyone could be about to do some dodgy/unpredictable moves on the roads this morning (more than usual anyway).

  • Sorry about that... my booze tolerance has been low since TABR.

  • Sound a bit shit. Hope you are not too shaken up.

  • RLJ'ing cyclist pulled over by cops on the CS7 this morning at Clapham North Tube junction. Did the sirens and everything.

  • Cheers. Went a bit shaky after cycling the rest of the way in.

Good to see how many people stopped to help and how organised they were. 2 first aid boxes appeared in minutes.

  • There was a strange mood out on the road today. Wonder if it was some how connected to last nights antics? Was really busy as well with people doing strange things.

  • My commute was quieter than normal. Presumed lots of people took time off.

  • Fee paying schools are out for the summer now. It has dramatically reduced the morning traffic in SE London.

  • That makes more sense. Posh end of town... no mums in 4x4s

  • I noticed that too.

    Silly peds.
    Silly cyclists.
    Silly drivers.
All round head up arse selfish silliness.

  • just started back on the commute after two/three months of dadding/paternity leave. Feels good. Am slow as fuck and fall asleep immediately after eating when I return home but riding in the over the last couple of days has felt so GOOD!!
Was really worried I'd miss all the good weather. A bit upset that today was so much cooler than the last week or so, enjoyed being in the hot hot weather..

  • Turns out that if a bus cuts you up, you can request the footage for free. It comes in the post on a CD.

This was my commute a couple of weeks back.

  • This Post needs to be stickied somewhere.

  • Cool.

Not cool that you were cut up but the footage request. Wish I'd known that 10 years ago.

  • This is the process - it's a bit tricky. Only costs you a stamp though.

    1. Make a note of the time and location it happened, as well as the route and registration number of the bus
    2. Pop to this website and look up who runs that bus route (TfL subcontracts them all out)
    3. Scribble a quick letter to the operator requesting the footage under GDPR legislation (which is free - used to be Data Protection Act and a £10 charge) and include all those details from earlier, as well as who you are and what you were dressed like etc - they need to know which bits of video include you
    4. Sit back and wait - it comes in the post on a CD a couple of weeks later
  • @comadad ‏ would appreciate that sparky, he's been campaigning on bus safety.

  • He helped me out with this at the time, and I’ve shown him the video.

  • Wew. That's a doozy.

  • Wasn't a commute but I rode the road I used to commute along and I been spoiled I forgot to the shear shitfuckery of the road, long and straight and reasonably wide so drivers feel ok overtaking you at speed and barely leaving the lane. It was a cluster fuck of gooch-thightening constant shit passing with the occasional driver making the effort to leave the lane. I moved further and further out to force less shit-passing but it was a sharp illustration of how the geography of a road influences driver behaviour

  • Bloody hell. That’s a surprise.

  • Dozens of fellow social media users responded to the video agreeing with the rider - though some pointed out he was riding rather centrally - giving the driver no option but to undertake.

    Basically entrapment.

  • No helmet or high viz so you were asking for it, also you don't pay road tax and are uninsured so the death penalty is the least you deserve.

(That should save you having to read the comments.)
