Granted, the new shifters look nicer, but they're so unreliable! When they changed them, 1/10
out of box bikes needed a new shifter. -

I have swapped out a few, but its a brand new product so some initial issues are to be expected. The one on my and my OHs bike have been flawless for over a year!

Fair do's. I suppose they did introduce them after a factory change, so teething problems expected. Still fun to hack though.

Definitely, Brompton are a company that genuinely listen to dealer feedback too, its a total pleasure selling their stuff.
-

it is much smaller, especially when you factor in the integrated bell..
@Chak, @maynardeamesassuming once I have this https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/gear-spares/brompton-dr-cable-anchorage-spring-set-complete-for-integrated-gear-shifter/
it should be easy enough to swap out by lbs?
-
• #4332
Its easy enough to swap out yourself!
-
• #4333
Does require some swearing. If you can utilise some some humanoid with tiny hands, that helps.
I'd say @maynardeames method is way more elegant. -
• #4334
This would work well if you fit the 2017+ chain pusher assembly where the cable is attach to that end instead of the shifter like the old one.

Bikes look nice. Deeply unconvinced about the name though.

Not legit stock, not on the trade platform yet. Must be the warranty replacements / off bike. - happy to be corrected if wrong but at sjscycles we are in constant contact with Brompton and a good friend works there, heard nothing yet, will Be having 2 pairs myself
When they drop. -

Hi @maynardeames I've no idea, just happen to stumble across them whilst looking for something else. Do you know when the official release date will be for them?
And, just out of interest, do SJSCycles, take Cycle to work vouchers?

The only official statement is soon, I’ll check it out Monday though. We tried to buy a load direct from Schwalbe, wouldn’t let us, even though they make tyres now discontinued for us only etc, must have a great deal with Brompton!
Yes, pretty sure you need to collect from store though, need to check it precisely!

Can anyone recommend my upgrade options to replace the stock BB?
-
• #4342
How old a crank?
-
• #4343
2012
-
• #4344
I was looking at that, surprisingly few options (if any?) after a very quick Google search...
-
• #4345
Stick with stock, they’re still decent.
-
• #4346
But my brompton is indecent. What BB should I buy?
-
• #4347
IKR, that's why I'm asking :)
-
• #4348
You'll not find a better square taper BB. You need new cranks.
-
• #4349
Love the Sugino 75 and disc conversions!
-
• #4350
Might be a stock bb but they are not stock cranks? Therefore the 2012 stock B.B. is iso, the newer cranks are jis, so what cranks are they, and what bottom bracket have you got fitted...?
Hard to recommend something without knowing exactly the spec.
Just need the newer style anchorage, but these do not work as well as the new integrated shifter, are not as ergonomic and not my cuppa!
