We may see our 3rd choice keeper come on upfront in the 90th minute with instructions to get sent off ...
That kind of thing only happens when Stuart Pearce is managing and David James is on the bench.

Its quite a nice thing to have somebody on your team who can make the whole crowd, opposition fans included, gasp and applaud with the pass of the ball.
England certainly lack a left-footed midfielder that can drill or float passes upon anywhere on the pitch. And I get it, he won a World Cup. He just lacks fight. I'm more of a Maradona guy.
As for the phenomenon of opposition fans applauding delightful passes, I've seen it several times with Irish Messi Andy Reid.

This match seems like a slightly over-personnelled April Stoke v Everton,
but on a sunny Baltic evening. -

FFS Rashford

It is really odd watching a second string England team play 80% of the way that England used to play, and also what is our plan b, when we are given space by our opponents.
Rose needs to start instead of young, he’s just better all the way around, apart from not getting closer to janudzai for the goal.
Which was a great strike by the way.
Also weird watching a competitive England game during the World Cup without being stressed by the outcome. On a Belgium note, dembele needs to start in their midfield,)3 offers so much more then witsel and fellaini
Fuck me! How did Rashford not score that!!!!?!??

Seems to me we need Kane & Sterling starting. Dier not on the same level as Henderson. Rose was totally outclassed.

Nice, what projector do you have?

It’s an Optoma HD600X-LV, which is not actually HD but 720p. 6 years old but I changed the bulb a few months back so it’s nice and bright even on just a white wall.

Have been looking at getting an Optoma, just want it for movies, watch sport and gaming
-
• #144267
Do it, before we moved I watched/played everything on it. You get a lot of bang for your buck with Optoma too - my mate has a slightly newer full HD one and it’s holding up just as well.

No idea of Stats but surely something like shots on target would be better than yellow cards to decides who goes through.

They need to get rid of the finishing top or second tactical nonsense too. After a group has finished its games just do a draw for who goes through as winner and who goes through as runner up. That way no-one can pick out the "easier" side of the draw in advance.
(Looking at the way it'll work with 16 groups of 3 in 2026 I guess this last group game tactical stuff is dead anyway. I can't see a way the 3rd group game could ever be a dead rubber.)

Ugh, is that the format, with two going through into the next round? Awful. Should be eight groups of six, little mini leagues at the start.
