In my mind it is all about getting the weight on the front wheel on a road bike like that.
Getting the saddle in front of your BB and having a longer stem like you have there makes a road bike feel faster imo.
Plus long stem suits the big frame. -

Bikefit tho?
Mine has an especially big saddle setback because of my loooooong femurs.

A build from a couple years ago. Did have it on the Cannondale recently but swapped a load of stuff around

I’ve had this frame sitting around a little while so I parts bin built it up. It’s pretty nice riding a solid fixed bike with drops again. It’s gunna be for sale tho, frameset or complete.

Nice, looks way more 'in proportion' on your bikes

What size is the frame?

Did a conversion on a 1978 Motobecane.
Managed to get rid of all my red parts too ;-)
Wheels were @purpaboo - had to change a couple of spokes, all bearings and the front axle.
Aero levers are from Laxzo on eBay (about £8) - decent copies of Tektro.
Used a threadless bottom bracket as the threads are french.

Only the finest french steel.
2040 tensile
Broadly equivalent to Reynolds 501

Mmmmmm, "hi-ten" for that special "dead" feel. :-/
I was going to restore mine similarly, but it's now my pub/town/IDGAF bike.

Hi-ten steel is nowhere near as good as 501.
Also, I believe you need a colour intervention. -

I fix a lot of bikes in my spare time and I purchase new parts/tyres whenever they are on offer.
All the bike I fix up & sell are sold for low amounts so unfortunately it is not viable for me to get "nice" colours unfortunately.
For this Motobecane, the person who purchased it picked all the colours... so not my responsibility...

Do you just do it for fun? If you bought more spendy bits you could probably sell for more and still cover your costs no?

it's a 55 but the headtube is very long

Guess it won't be cheap? :)

What rack is this?
Think it's the angle of the pic, the bars aren't actually that low.
