  • Just for shits and giggles.
There's some ridiculous smart cars in Berlin!

All on this page are Kodak ColorPlus by the way.
I think it's really nice for sunny city stuff. And cheap as chips!

  • Last two are Pentax Espio mini & Kodak Gold.

  • Hey guys! I'm going to NY next tuesday. I was wondering if some of you can recommend me some good adresses/stores where I can buy films there. Thanks! : )

  • I hardly shoot any more but I will never give up drunk buying cameras I can't afford

This one is pretty good, I actually made some pictures with it

  • Hey @lychee B&H Photo Video will have your back. Just google it and you’ll find it. Near Penn Station in Midtown. Portra 400 is ~$8 a roll IIRC. They have everything though, can dev too.

  • This one is pretty good, I actually made some pictures with it

    Ooooohh, very nice!
    : ]

Also really like the first two of the shots you posted.

  • Liking your shop front photos, they need to be collated ;)

@shinkuu_kiss How is the Leica I to use ? If I ever bought a Leica it'd be one of the early ones. First three pics are nice.

  • Thanks. It's great, I love it. Most people prefer some way of focusing properly and/or metering I guess but this really suits how I shoot. Nothing to get in the way and easy to do it "wrong"when I want to.
It's also frankly just a lovely thing as an object. The seller mentioned it hasn't been serviced and might be a bit rough but it's more than smooth enough, especially for a camera nearly 90 years old.

  • Thanks @JB! I'll have a look there. I checked their site, prices are sweet (minus taxes) compare to where I live.

  • Ferry to Tiree. Mixture of HP5 and Adox Silvermax

  • Gorgeous greys.. especially like first, third, and last..

  • 3rd, 4th and last for me. Nice work !

  • Wow, nice camera. But I would put a period-correct lens to match it. The Jup 12 feels weird on it.

  • mrboulard - the mdcc_tester of the non-digital thread

  • ^lol

@mrboulard I wouldn't mind a 35mm elmar for the size but $$$. Anyway I will probably shoot a 28mm mostly (I have one but no finder atm) and there isn't one that old (and I wouldn't want to shoot the oldest ones anyway).

Actually I made a thread mount 35mm from the lens from a nikon l35 af and some broken stuff but I can't be bothered to calibrate the focus.

  • ^^lol idk how should I take it though :)

@shinkuu_kiss Yes it only looks weird. Because if you shoot old elmar/hektor you must like the old lenses' rendering and it is really different and sometimes very boring (for me). I really love the russians lenses. My first test film on my M6 was with a Jup 9.

  • I moved from M6 to T2 and it was honestly the best thing I've ever done camera-wise.

The build quality of the M6 is amazing and when everything in the equation is bang-on it's really hard to beat. It's also pretty versatile if you have a few lenses...

    BUT

Let's be honest, the time and effort required to wrangle that manual focus is pretty impractical and you pay a price for that. Also, no-one has a range of lenses because they cost a fortune.

By contrast, Contax T2 (especially at 2.8 auto-focus) has changed my life. I'm definitely someone who's less interested in the exactitudes of photography and more interested in 'the moment' and for that it's amazing. Caught so much good street stuff with that set-up and there's there's manual/zone focus option and other apertures if you want to experiment with settings. Granted it's not as versatile as a selection of M-mounts but the camera also costs less than a single Leica lens.

It's also a really beautiful object in it's own right and the flash is built in and brilliant. Best camera I ever had.

  • Yes! Buy my t2

  • As a M3 owner, you just totally sum up why I bought a T2. I could not say it better myself.

  • Are you lot talking about cameras or Bromptons? :)

  • OM2-n / 28mm F2.8 / Velvia 50
