Well done @DarrenFranks - triumph in the face of adversity.

Nice one Darren. Alot of shit thrown at you but you've dealt with all of it all so well. No doubt many would have crumbled.

Glad to see Darren finish, I know I wouldn't have got back on the road after my frame died.
Payday tomorrow and I'll throw a few quid at your charity page too, I lost one of my best friends to cancer 5 years ago so appreciate why and how you kept going.

Definitely less than 80kg now.
Well done both @hippy and @DarrenFranks.
Seriously impressive! -

What an entertaining three weeks we have had. Really enjoyed all the suffering but so happy that it has been ended successfully.
I suppose the Tour will tide us over until the TCR.

Obligatory blood streak Photoshop needs to be done.

Not nearly as entertaining, though. For starters, you can't watch any dots.

Well done, Darren. Shame you couldn't ride the whole distance, but there's always next year.
-
• #2360
Well done Darren! You definitely made the best of it I think!

Hope you'll both be back for another crack at it one day. DF was keeping good pace before the mechanical and TH is so close to a top placing. Impossible to predict the weather on each course.. last year was cold in the early half, this year mild weather until the utter deluge toward the end.

Thanks for all the comments peeps. Sorry been lax replying. Slept for a bit then spent most of the day at the finish with Chuck and Anne, and the two Johns. Lovely bunch of people who cheer and help racers at the finish line.

Well done Hippy. The forum has missed you.
Are you doing TCR as well?
-
• #2364
Well done Hippy!! Amazing that you’ve done that 2 years running, its bastard difficult.

• #2365
Congratulations to both Darren and Hippy. Inspiring stuff guys!

Amazing people, amazing job ... well done!!

Congrats @hippy and @DarrenFranks, both. Really enjoyed watching the dots over the last three weeks - inspiring stuff :)
Pretty much convinced me to have a crack at one of these races at some point. Best of luck with the journey home and the recovery.

Well done @DarrenFranks that looked like a hard old ride in the end!
-
• #2369
Sure was. Felt superb up to the frame break. Insanely tough on the second half. More questions than answers. Can’t wait to write this one up.

• #2370
Yeah. Literally just thought about needing a route
-
• #2371
And managed to mess up both differently :)
Second time was useful knowing the route but definitely got feelings of dread for some sections that were horrible last year.

Thanks mate. Well done on your epic performance. Gutted I missed it all but I'll try and catch up on it unfolding via the various forums I haunt.

• #2373
You go on other forums??? Are we not enough to satiate your hunger?
