Just read through 31 pages of win. Epic multiple projects on the go! Looking forward to seeing how the GT turns out!
Ditto. Great thread with great engineering!

CK stuff only matches if it was anodised in the same batch. Shades will vary from batch to batch with any coloured anodising process. There are so many variables involved, even the slightest difference in temparature etc can result in a variation in colour.
Even a slight variation in the make up of the alloy itself will result in a different shade when finished.

I guess that's why Paul does small batch limited edition colourways as well.
Next semester of engineering school I'm probably going to go in depth with anodizing as an elective subject. Even though the process is electro/chemical the unpredictability almost makes it feel organic in a way. Really interesting stuff. -

I found some on eBay you might be interested in:
I am not sure if this is a black and silver pair or what ^
Not Revox, but plenty fine with good cables and shit loads of clearance for mud:
And then these:
Which used be my fav brakes and the reason I got into cross bikes really. I used to have an Empella Bonfire with blue Frogglegs. I might just buy these and try to put some better cartridge pads on there to make them contemporary.

I wish I still had this so I could sort out cockpit, seat post and take some new photos ;)

It is weekend and I am hung over. This means bike maintenance.
I should possible finish the frame I am working on, but I need to pick up some bits from Ceeway before I can sent it off to paint.I love dusty bikes and I have a fork crown fetish. There, it's out now.

I am still pretty keen on the olive drab version, but I am also flirting with ultramarine blue:

Never mind the colour. Explain the bars.
Also, olive drab for me..

I think he said they're Ritchey Venture Max, they look pretty great functionality-wise if not aesthetically. I nearly bought some on eBay today

hey hey hey
They are freaking comfy and the short reach will make the frame fit me better and goes well with how I intend using this bike.
I think I am going for olive drab. This will be my gravel grinder as my SSCX is my race bike.

Oh no doubt!
I can pay for one of your glorious creations with a left kidney. Little used, very healthy, never punched! My issue is the bars that looked like someone took a lighter to!Also gotta hit those instagram points!

I worked on a bonfire like that, had the weirdest 1 1/8" to 1" bottom headset bearings..
Re CK wheels. Stayer Cycles is sorting out the rear hub for me as they have CK tools and Judith is a pro when it comes to bearings.
Once they are working I will mount them and take photos...
