Wasn't my motivation, more about avoiding skanky plastic taste after repeated use.

In need of V60 experts!
Been enjoying home brewing with V60 for quite a while, but experiencing one problem.
When I start pouring water over the coffee, first roughly 150g of the water flows really nicely, but the rest (usually 100g) really slows down and gets clogged up.
Using pre grinded coffee from speciality coffee distributers (Weenie Beans, Pact, Union) and the problem happens with all of them.
Usually use 15 or 20g per 250g of water.
Am I doing something wrong? :(

Check you got filter grind and not espresso
Make sure you pre wet the filter
Pour in circles and in phases, not the whole lot at once
Maybe nothing's wrong at all, the whole lot should take about 3 min, and it's OK if the last bit doesn't pour through, just bin it.

@StevePeel, just seen your Insta feed, what does polishing the portafilter do to the brewing process?

Just routine cleaning. We scrub the PFs with detergent and scotchbrite at the end of every day. Catia the manager did them yesterday and when I lifted the basket out to dial-in this morning I got an ethereal golden glow like when they open the briefcase in Pulp Fiction. Double thorough.

What Klean Kanteen model would folk recommend?

You wouldn't want to see the inside of mine then!

I felt bad, so cleaned the hell out of mine. Probably a placebo effect, but the shot looked more buzzing, and the coffee has tastes in it that I'm sure weren't there before!!

Yes, old coffee oil and tar doesn’t do much to improve the flavour For home use it only needs a very quick scrub after each session. You’ll need to pull a seasoning shot, preferably 2 shots after you’ve cleaned it so the coffee doesn’t taste of detergent and brass.

Are you looking for a KeepCup type arrangement for drinking on the go or or a more sealable bottle type? I have the 8oz tumbler - pros are that it’s sturdy, keeps your coffee warm and gets lots of admiring comments from baristas. The main con is that it doesn’t have a bung for the little sipping hole so it can splash out a little while walking with it.

Need more 5 or 6 oz cups. No where has plain d’ancap ones in stock. What are the alternatives?

Quick Swedish google and these guys seems to have some - https://www.kitchentime.se/sv/k/varumarken/a-b/ancp?gclid=Cj0KCQjwvLLZBRDrARIsADU6ojC0KSrpOtrWlyhsaOtogxMIt1iyh7et1cZhBKWBzLuobjJ3ZvG0uEgaAtzYEALw_wcB
If they have your size and won’t ship to uk I’m happy to get them for you and forward
Won’t be cheap, but it’s an option

Apply for a 0% credit card buy it on that and pay it off in that duration?
-
• #14772
That's probably the taste I had :0)
-
• #14773
What price will you want for the pavoni?
-
• #14774
Thanks for the kind offer. I should be able to order direct from Italy if the worst comes to the worst. It’s just Bella barista and coffeehit don’t have any in stock here in the U.K.

Yo!
Im after the nearest price to £350.. Its steep i know but its because ive fully restored it all with orginal la pav parts and ive grown very attached to it.
As it's not 'one use' plastic you can chill out this time.
