• Ugh this grinds my gears so much.

To the guy on a single-speed with a Restrap bum bag in the Greenwich tunnel - you’re an idiot!

On the road before the tunnel - flew past me as close as possible without touching - ffs why?

In the tunnel - bombed that downhill dude nice one 10/10 bet that chain barely held up under your million watts! Right through the middle of the tunnel, again nearly annihilating me (walking), then through the crowds further down ..........

  • I've been through the Foot Tunnel a lot in the last year and I've seen some poor behaviour. I always walk through in the middle of the day and when there's anyone around and only ride late at night when there's no-one in the tunnel. There's a long-running campaign to get cycling permitted (which I think would improve behaviour, although managing expectations and conflict would remain an issue), but, paradoxically enough, it'll never succeed while people flout the existing ban. I haven't seen an example as bad as yours yet, but I expect I will at some point.

I still miss the lift staff.

  • Been using it for a few years now, but haven’t caught the lift staff days. Shame, as I’ve read in the tunnel thread (or dreamt ?) that they would call out bad behavior.

Today was one of the worst examples really. Seen all kinds of things, even pedestrians pretend-attack someone cycling, didn’t get physical though.

Witnessed the LED displays being installed, displaying No Cycling Allowed for a few months, then they went off a year or maybe more ago and nothing since then. Smells of corruption if I may get political at this point.

I walk through the tunnel and carry the bike up and down the stairs. So this is funny: he overtook me just before Seyssel St junction, we both went straight. That’s 700m to the tunnel. I was riding slow, I used the stairs. Then in the tunnel we met around half way before the flat bit. If that’s not an argument for slower commute then I don’t know what is.
