So you bought a XC bike? That's like mountainbiking without having fun - unless you're aiming for the Olympics or bought a more progressive one with a slacker headtube. The hype is real. Long reach, short stems and a slacker HT is more fun if you ever plan to point the bike down a trail. I do believe in having less travel though, I cope with 95% of what my friends on 150mm full suspension bikes do, and I'm on a hardtail with a 67 degree HT.
