That Argos is lush. But the Dale is a forum win.

On the nice Argos is that a Chorus or a Centaur seat post ?

I listened to @mdcc_tester and @Scilly.Suffolk advice to use black tape.
And didn't follow it....

Looking on the bright side, whoever buys it is going to want to bin those bars, so at least in the process the world will be rid of that tape :)

It seems unlikely the tape will survive the raging inferno that consumes those tyres, so I'm still hopeful of a positive outcome.

Very nice ! Love the colors. What's the handlebars ? Seems to have a fair amount of reach.

We averaged roughly 60 miles a day and i'd approx i was carrying 10 kilos of stuff. The bike was great, very thankful i was able to get 28's on (running at 60psi no problems even with gear), a 12-32 might of been nice someday's but gearing was never an issue. Wonderboom speaker was a good bit of kit for tiring/boring sections!

@BernardRenault thanks dude, it's gonna get a full strip rebuild now as it took some abuse overseas, i have a few bits that'll hopefully improve it further.
@Gaston it's a Centaur post i believe but the etched logo has all but worn off so i can't be sure. It's a lovely ti grey colour with a polished clamp section, very understated but much nicer than fully polished IMO.

#enduropacking rig test run.
Ideally need to come up with a solution to allow dropper to still work so some sort of frame off the seat tube for the saddle bag?
-
• #119789
all the solutions for that are mad spendy
just take off the bag if you're doing something with mad jumps, would be no fun anyway -
• #119790
Yeahhh that's true enough. I think if I fit it correctly I'll still be able to use a small amount of drop just to unweight the saddle for descending.
Also though I reckon it shouldn't be terribly difficult to devise a solution, just not sure if it would be better mounted to the seat tube or the saddle rail? I'm guessing seat tube as if the bag drops with the saddle it'll be into tyre clearance problems...
-
• #119792
Yeah that's a bit much... Might get a length of 7mm stainless tube and try bending it into a seat tube mounted saddle bag rack? Just need to figure out a good way to clamp it to the seat tube.

if you figure it out, great!
it's hard and pricey: http://www.bikepacking.com/gear/dropper-post-seat-bags/ -

Alpkit Bomber. They are something to try out if I like the flare.

Is this not what youre after? And strap whatever to the top/bottom of it. Dont see why youd need alpkit specific bags for it

I was thinking something like this with a loop that drops down parallel to the seat post would be ace. Then the seat post straps could be fixed to it off the seat post and the dropper can freely operate.
Alternatively the same design but mounted at the base with two clamps on the seat tube to keep the bag stationary while the saddle drops?

with a loop that drops down parallel to the seat post
Miiiight not be needed if the bag is strapped properly to the exo rails, but also might not be impossible to mod? Never even owned a seatpack myself so this is all armchair guessing

Harry Hall has also been rebuilt now that im back in London. Rides great but seatpost creaks, which I reckon is to do with the slightly dodgy seatclamp mechanism or (god forbid) a crack. Going to try a longer post to see if I can sort the issue

Excuse the absolute state this is in, but needed a bike (haven't ridden one for like 6 months now :( ) built it up today.

What was your average daily distance travelled? How many kilograms of stuff did you manage to pack into your bags?
Nice ride to travel around Japan on ;)
