  • Great! Solid work @cjr, word is it was a hard day.

  • Good stuff @cjr

  • Men and women's comp records have gone it seems, 323 and 290+ miles

  • 264miles in 12 hours ?

just wopped that stat into a calculator.
    An average speed of 22mph.

    And 271 @ 12hours = 22.58mph

I had my first taste of group riding at moderate speed yesterday on a bit of a jolly for a few hours, but maintaning 20+mph for 12 hours on open roads.
I might manage that for 4 hours but expect to blow up and suffer badly for days if i made 6 hours.

    Well done !

  • Yeah, I got it off @mustard it’s the same frame as the ‘£1000 National 10 winning bike’

So indebted to @dbr for the support. I joked that other riders would poach him for his running hand ups, and apparently his technique was widely praised.

@umop3pisdn thanks for the support/marshalling and sorry for the rude gesture. I can fully understand why you quit TTing after that.

    How did @danstuff get on?

  • Yay, it's me! Think I did about 260 miles. Garmin said 417km after 12 hours. Should be enough to beat the current club record by about 20 miles. Which is nice.

  • Awesome dude, good to see its working well for you!

  • I’m getting pretty good at multiplying and dividing by 1.6.

Near the end I amused myself my singing songs based on distance left to my next target.

  • I can fully understand why you quit TTing after that.

Hiatus, gotta do the 24h when I can commit to it properly.

  • Absolutely heroic stuf @cjr and @danstuff.
Unbelievable. I cannot even imagine it!

  • And for a moment I was worried you might get Shermer's from drinking. :)

  • @dbr: Bar champion

    Let's hope he doesn't get debarred. :)

  • Great work cjr and danstuff.

  • It's only one day.

  • Nice work @danstuff 👍🏼

  • Yesterday I did a slight variant of the course from a fortnight ago. Much tougher day, winner from 2 weeks ago went 1m35 slower. I raised my bars back up, did 12 watts more, and went 15 seconds quicker, despite the course being a shade under 0.2 miles longer.

    {shoulder shrug emoticon}

  • And also ruined getting into the middle marker event on the E2 for the foreseeable future. My LTS from a float day on the E2 when I was fat(ter) and slow expires at the end of the season, went 18 secs slower yesterday.

  • I think @cycleclinic did the 12 too - how did it go~?

  • women's comp record

Presumably Alice L improving her own record?

  • Presumably Alice L improving her own record?

    Yes, 290-ish

  • 290 is a massive ride.
To think Beryl Burton's record was unbeatable for so long and she's put another 5 miles into it on what sounds like a pretty average day

  • 292 according to their fb page. It’s pretty insane.

Both comp records going in same day says otherwise. Although both an incredible riders.
