Coming up to Bridgewater. Averaging an outstanding 23.7MPH. Wind still coming from the West at 12MPH

Does anyone have a route profile? Wondering if he'll find it easier to hold that speed now he's out of the wrinkly bit of the country.

• #1959
It’s on the previous page at the bottom of the ridewithgps map. I think the answer is probably not, still a lot of up and down to come

Speed is always hugest at start. It’ll drop at night and into tomorrow for sure. But might be a little quicker this afternoon if low traffic or stuff in his way.

According to TopoFusion DEM (which shows a lot more climbing than ridewithgps, not sure why):

Almost! Unless he's going so well that he managed to do 24 hours in just 23 ;0)
Absolutely astonishing so far, keep going @wheels_of_fire !!

Oops! Definitely misinterpreted he twitter feed!

That confused me earlier, I was sure @wheels_of_fire started at 8 a.m. yesterday, so thought he must've knocked the record out the park.
Amazing ride so far, chapeau!

He's doing fabulously well,. Still seems to be a bit up v schedule despite the shit weather. Main thing he still has a tailwind, although he might lose that later today.
He should feel better once it stops raining.
Still s long way to go though. I expect he will have a bad patch at some point this morning. But he looks like he has a great team with him who will pick up on that quickly, like when he got cold, and make the right decisions.
The second night will be immensely hard so far too early to think it's in the bag, but it's very much still on. Most attempts fail before they get to Scotland. -

Sounds like he’s having a real tough ride. But we know he’s super hard. Hopefully the rain abaids soon and he’ll be ok. We know he can go the distance. Mental isn’t his issue, it’s cold.

Sounds like he has had pissing rain all day and now is struggling with shermers on account of not being able to keep his neck warm.
Time buffer gone but he's still racing for it. It's looking tough now but if he gets it, he's certainly earned it.

Smooth as fuck!
