I tried on a pro trek a few months ago and t was way too big (was also what, £200?) but at £40 I would really punt. Trying to resist now.

I'd say my Protrek gets more wear than my G-shock. It may not be quite as indestructible but it's still pretty tough and the compass and nice big numbers are useful. Solar powered and auto radio time update are a bonus but maybe not worth the extra £100+ given the price of the cheapo one.
I'm liking this version of mine for only £120:

More scrapes than a fisherman's knuckles.
I think I bought it 11 years ago now.
EDIT: This one is 9 years old. Just remembered that my first one died when exposed to -45 on a trip to Canada. Amazingly, Casio replaced it with this one despite the fact I was open that it was outside of the recommended operating range.
EDIT EDIT: Just remembered that I replaced the strap a few years ago too.

I love a well worn watch. My pam had some new scrapes because of my crash. I think its now on desperate need of a service. It definitely has been well worn.

I'll be selling the Omega Seamaster I bought on here off @Stonehedge as well as a pepsi bezel Seiko, 21mm Murts strap, Seiko 5 sports (beater) and maybe Steinhart Ocean One with ceramic bezel.
I'm in no rush to sell any of it but if you're interested drop me a message and we can work something out.
Clearing space for new ones.

Today I am sporting my "vintage" G Shock DW003
Got it on my 18th Birthday back in 1999.
Battered and bruised and still telling time.
Light doesn't work anymore, doubt it is water resistant either, strap died and now lives on a NATO adaptation.

Since rediscovering it in the loft, mine’s been getting loads of wrist time. The casing has so many age related stress fractures. All the superglue.
It’s the only reason I’m 50-50 about the bargain-tek, because this has really usurped all over watches for general wear.
Wasn’t too sure it’d be watertight, but forgot to take it off swimming in a river in Poland and it didn’t die.

I found a white F91W today, new battery already fitted but broken middle bit on the clasp. The white strap is a bit discoloured from age. Want it for cost of post + a beer?

Bought that £40 thing. May be disappointed though, not sure, since it’s a ‘Sports Gear’ not a Pro Trek. Hope it’s still relatively strong.
I'm poor now...
