Had a larger gentleman cut me up twice on the Surrey Canal Road on Monday evening, once when he decided it was a good idea to overtake me and aggressively cut in when he realised I wasn't overtaking the guy in front because of the mum and buggy coming the other way. Then when we passed the buggy and I went to overtake he just pulls out as I'm right next to him forcing me into a wall, I told him that he needs to do a shoulder check and got a torrent of abuse in return. He is an absolute weapon's grade bellend.

Fully sympathise with this. The Surrey Canal path is full of idiots wanting to gun it and overtake down there. And never taking into account that there are school kids all over it, pushchairs and the like. It's like they haven't learned the lesson that down there you should cycle as if all peds want to jump under your wheels to kill you and themselves.

No points for guessing which news outlet is featuring this video on its website this morning.

Mixed opinions on the air horn. I can see the logic, but if you cycle on lanes where there are hundreds of people and expect to not be walked out on then you are a simpleton. Easier to just adjust your speed accordingly like they do where cycling is normalised.

Yah, I agree one should definitely ride at a speed safe for their envieronment.. as for the horn, what’s wrong with a loud bell? You don’t need to scare the shit out of people! Just make them aware that you are there so you can overtake safely.

Irony of a fuck off horn on the Quietway.
Its clearly a bit of a joke by the way he just gaffer tapes the bugger on and then edits the video for maximum honking/scaring. Bet he was chuffed when he got slapped. Youtube gold.

Air honking all the way to the bank (of likes and shares)

Yea I doubt he intended it a permanent solution haha. Wonder how many views he'll get on that in the end.

Any given 10 minutes spent sat outside the roebuck will yield about 5-10 twats riding too fast for that shared use pavement.

at about 17s the cyclist in the distance who starts and then falls off, completely unforced error
-
• #13596
No, honestly, I can't see anything like that in the video, even after you've tried to point it out. Maybe I'm just being blind.
-
• #13597
I can't see it either, all I noticed is he can't cycle in a straight line.
