Well ASFAIK it's not strictly a copy of a droz, EPSA didn't make watches, just the cases and the outer dial, the unique part is the movement, inner dial and hands. Some brands changed the inner dial too but Longines specifically only made the top arrow hollow, hardly a significant change.
I maybe prefer the Helson as it doesn't have the date and the 'cock' hour hand is a little less obvious, and it doesn't have the script 'AUTOMATIC' type.
all the other brands who bought the patented EPSA case...

I completely agree with you. Just have difficulty not considering the Longines a copy too.
