Collymore is bizarre - he can come out with a statement like "the thing white men hate most, that they’re scared of most, is outspoken black men" in an interview about racism and prejudice, without a hint of irony. He can complain about Ian Wright working for the Sun, whilst suggesting more black former players should be working for owners of football clubs who are more than Murdoch's equal in the dodgy department. He can brush off kicking Ulrika Jonsson repeatedly in the head because "I've worked since then", without giving any thought to whether, in the current climate and quite rightly, a mainstream media outlet is going to give a platform to someone who beats up women.
