Howard, you are right, it is BB30 (confirmed by a mechanic). There are not many available cranksets for BB30 here, but I managed to find a FSA Energy crankset with BB for a reasonable price (85€).

Where are you?

You can pick up used / unwanted BB30 cranks in the UK reasonably easily and cheaply.

Did the carbon FSA crank die? I think they were recalled, or at least the first generation of them was.

Well I am in Slovenia and the above mentioned crankset was more or less the only one available in stock around here.
The pedal insert on the carbon one became loose, which I learned is not so surprising!
