I know Stan's got his thing to keep up (spiky, saying the things others won't), but I think he could have said it better. Ian Wright has all the appearance of someone who's part of the conservative establishment now. (Football punditry, column in a red top, moving documentary about his background and rise to fame and fortune)
I don't think he had it easy by any means and he'll quickly be reminded of his otherness at any opportunity.I don't see what Stan C is achieving here, surely he should be attacking the system in the way it identifies those who it wants to incorporate into their world and then how it changes them (Ian Wright has clearly changed his presentation style) to be acceptable and packageable and ultimately consumable by the paying audience?

Collymore is bizarre - he can come out with a statement like "the thing white men hate most, that they’re scared of most, is outspoken black men" in an interview about racism and prejudice, without a hint of irony. He can complain about Ian Wright working for the Sun, whilst suggesting more black former players should be working for owners of football clubs who are more than Murdoch's equal in the dodgy department. He can brush off kicking Ulrika Jonsson repeatedly in the head because "I've worked since then", without giving any thought to whether, in the current climate and quite rightly, a mainstream media outlet is going to give a platform to someone who beats up women. Maybe he should have a word with beIN Sports...
Fair point calling out anyone who works for the sun. Wouldn't have gone that far though.
