Coming up to a big birthday. Treating myself. Looking at Lexus SC430, Lexus IS250 C or Infiniti G37c. Not looking for a practical car, just a couple of years of nice, before back to practicalities.
Looking at the above, because they aren't BMW, Merc, Porsche
Anyone any experience.

Cheeky question - does anyone hear own a bike carrier/roof rack that I could borrow for a weekend? My partner is doing Chase The Sun with 3 others and I'm on broom wagon duty... Need's to fit a MK5 VW Golf. Thanks guys!

I've got the Thule 9584 setup, see if it fits your car - if it does you're welcome to borrow it.

Unfortunately not. But could you have a crack at doing a half decent job with rattle cans?
From what I've seen on YouTube you can get some excellent results if you do a good job.

Painting is definitely an art - you need a clean, dry, well ventilated space that doesn't matter if it gets messy. Prep is very time consuming and decent paint ain't cheap these days either.

@christianSpaceman @Dammit thanks for the replies. I feared it might be a massive faff, especially in bad weather. Currently using the car once or twice a week, so can't be arsed with regular washing. Might get a screen cover as a compromise.

Having some problems with the legnum, wonder if the hive mind has any ideas...
It's been cutting out occasionally since I bought it but it seems to have gotten slightly worse since winter hit. The car idles fine and comes on boost nicely but on decel after being on boost the engine will die if the clutch is dipped for longer than to shift gears, same if I sit still and give it a decent rev.
It's seeming to me like a boost leak or something to do with aftermarket BOV, anybody go other ideas?
Edit: I didn't fit the BOV and plan to get rid of it soon.

Sounds like throttle position sensor maybe?

Actually could be many things. Coils, maf/map sensors. O2 sensors, fuel pump. Clogged fuel filter etc etc. If it's happening with the cold then it's probably electrical.

You still haven't said what the car is.

Doesn't have a DPF and doesn't need regenerating then.
They're yanking your chain, so to speak

Do you even car m8?!?
@mi7rennie that's utterly bananas! Small mammal sucking intake? Check. Snow plough splitter? Check. Moon sized spoiler? Check. Some funny plastic sitting on top of a rabid monster ready to take off? Check.
288 sounds lovely and usable to me.

Man, I love how ridiculous Time Attack cars. World Time Attack cars are even more mental than the UK TA cars.

Said he was 40mph quicker through the fastest corner than in the Whitleline demo car at it's limit and that wasn't even pushing this beast.

Well, fuck. You see what happens Larry? You see what happens when you install a 30cm high metal pole barrier less than a car’s length behind a parking bay?
Have emailed and called Volvo for a quote, and I fully expect to have to chase and chase them to find out if they’ll even do it for a model they’re not making any more. That being said, if they do, I’m anticipating somewhere in the £650-£900 price range for a new bumper. Any advance on that?
My preferred local garage “doesn’t do crash repairs”, although when pressed they said they will swap a new bumper in, although didn’t specify whether they’ll source it.
Can/should I just try and find somewhere that can courier me the part and do it myself? I don’t currently have access to my hanes manual, but is it likely to be a job I can do on my own without specialist tools and without fucking it up more?

Yeah rear bumper swap shouldn't be too much hassle. Lots of torx bolts (inside rear arches too), rear lights out and it should just slide off. Should be much cheaper.
