That's a few roads over from me, have some old friends in that road. I'd had the idea the top end of the ABCD had got better since the alley at the end of Hillside was cleaned up and shops got all tidy, not seen signs of anything gang related in years on our few streets.
Hope your kids friend is on the road of recovery and his study isn't totally trashed by it either. Also hope it doesn't erupt retaliation and more swept into gangs and stuff.

His arm is like a hoopla for the pineapple rings that should be on his face.

In related news, the free that twat march at the weekend ran straight into the World Naked Bike Ride at the weekend.
I am not sure who I feel most sorry for.
(Its the cyclists obviously)

How very dare you, he was thrown off his horse, and here's the reporting to prove it:
Look at the horse rearing up in this picture:
I hope he's not badly injured. That spin is ridiculous, though.

His helmet and vest are far too heavy, next year he should do the World Naked Bike Ride instead.
Maybe they could combine both events -

At least he was wearing a helmet which I'm sure is kite marked.

Yeah - we live on Amesbury - this was 5 or 6 doors down from my house. We had just left for the weekend so missed it (a huge fight broke out as I understand it, prior to the stabbing) but it leaves us wondering how to address and message this with our 6 and 3yr old boys. Quite a few residents naturally horrified, as others have said, with the age of the victim and the time of day - just so brazen. I had heard the boy was recovering well, but nevertheless, tragic.

The boy is doing much better than originally thought, thankfully. At least two of the men who've been arrested for attempted murder are neighbours of yours, they live on the same road. The kids involved go to Dunraven, so are around the area on week days at this time - many of them getting the train or buses home from Streatham High Road. Hopefully things will be quiet today.

I'm at the high street end of Downton.
I wouldn't stress about it loads, they are kids so it's rather natural/normal to shield them from the reality of how dark the world can be at times. Beyond "don't be stabby, it's bad" what will a kid of 3 or 6 get from a long talk about it.

Not so sure, some on twitter have the idea they started early but fingers crossed it's just people being jumpy.

I've already had to tell Lib Dems to go away three times in person and have had two newspapers and three personal letters from them (hand written envelopes too), but now they have sent Tim Farron in person as a secret weapon to clinch Lewisham East.
Thanks. My son is OK, but it's shaken him and his mates. Fortunately the boy is no longer considered to be in a "life threatening" condition, but how fucked up are things that three men, including a 58 year-old!!!, are arrested for the attempted murder of a 16 year-old, coming home from school, in school uniform, at 4.30... Fucks sake, I'm at a loss
