But it’s not calling a friend. You’re calling them as a business. You’re previous relationship means they would and could offer advice.

Would you then consider it ok, if the person paid the fitter a small fee?

Or is it that they can offer personalised advice?

I'd say you were getting a service that others couldn't get precisely because you have a previous relationship.

But could be one to post in the TCR facebook group and see what other people think?
I'd do it but I'm weaning myself of the FB habit - not been there for about three days...

This is all shades of gray though isn't it? What if there was no prior relationship, yet upon said help that was called finds out that you're in a race and sees an opportunity with a no fee offer to help for publicity, what umbrella does that fall under? Rider unknowing of course.
