Yep, well-intentioned but not thought through!

I’d agree that there are issues with implementation but rarely are individuals the best judges of the risk they are putting themselves at, especially when most at risk; in this case sleep deprived.

If you believe that to be the case then ultra-racing is definitely not for you! The fundamental premise of it is self-reliance, the rider is responsible for everything and takes all the decisions.

My point was Bjorn would have stopped for a few hours sleep earlier, if his schedual had not been manipulated by the new rules. So in effect, the new rules caused him to go for longer without sleep.

@frank9755 this is interesting. Similar to tabr we’re talking about.
Bike frame cracks. Bike dealer then offers and does send watery frame during race to rider so swap onto.

Ps. Don’t buy a kenisis. New crackondale.

That's pretty rotten luck. If that happens, you have lost a day so you are then basically touring.
Is it supported? I reckon not, but I had to think about it for a few minutes!
It certainly isn't if Kenesis would respond as quickly for every customer with a cracked frame.
If they are making a special effort for him, you could argue it was supported. But they would probably do the same for any other TAW rider who had a Kinesis frame which cracked so it is on equal terms with other Kinesis riders.
Is it equal with non-Kinesis riders? I'd say yes, because if their frame mfr/builder doesn't replace in the same way, they could have bought Kinesis for that service!
I've got a second-hand Kinesis. Frame is fine but, straight after I bought it, I found there was a recall on the forks as a guy had died from a failure

Pawel up to forth and karen 5th. Did Hippo's crack as well then? would explain the new yellow thing he's got

@nick.earthloop currently in 15th. Gwan son, smash it!

Yes. I’d argue that they’re being over a bit him being in the race. As it’s not good publicity.
But thought it was an interesting one to ask. Given the disparity in people’s opinions and the newness. It’s good to talk about these things to establish ‘case law’ if you will.

@nick.earthloop Yesss! Nice one Forumer. Head down!

edit: Yep. Done now. Cheers

Bjorn's fucked up.
-
• #67
From the long first stint?
-
• #68
I'd thought that if he have to introduced a 3 hours rest every 24 hours, it would be a little bit better if he said a minimum of 3 hours stop for a rest regardless of the time.

The Tracker lists some names at CP2 ahead of Bjorn and Bernd, it's a bit confusing... Is Pawel on fixed?
-

Bjorn and Bernd just arrived at CP2. Bit of a confusing live video but apparently Bjorn forgot his wallet in a hotel and went back for it.

Bernd's legs! I think Adrian's beard needs its own postcode. That thing is boisterous!

Bjorn looks like he's just got back from a Saturday afternoon 80k spin around Essex.

I’m going to Sheeps Head in September wasn’t planning on taking the bike with me, may have changed my mind on that now.
Are there any hire options, or even better a friendly local who might lend me their spare and show me round!?! -
