  • Does hippy have a fitter as he seems to need to put the call in .

Seperate to all this wouldnt you have all your set up sorted and any inherent problems addressed before you start ? Easy to say as a armchair ds of course with a wonky knee.

Hippy does have a fitter who I am sure is following his progress!

What happens is that a fit that is ok for 100km, 600km, even 1000km, might to start causing you problems after twice that distance. Basically your body changes when you ride 18+ hours a day for a few days. Some bits get looser, some stiffer, some damaged. Part of the race is how you deal with that and how you make the necessary adjustments to keep the show on the road.

  • Fyi my issues stem from NOT using my correct fit. Post must have slipped before marking. As for the Achilles I've been midfoot and pain free since, so presume it was my short socks (designed to avoid last year's tendon issue!!) That ribbed the tendon. Now I'm just balancing changes to cope.

OK - that was why you were on about tape measures.
I had seat post slip on PBP and it caused a bunch of problems.
