Hmm the “Taco Bell” stop seems to undermine the race to me.

Why?

It was a 140 mile detour, it cost him a huge amount of time.

Do we know what the real purpose was? (I doubt it was to visit that particular Taco Bell.)

I’ve not heard anything besides the above.

If they wanted to do that why enter a race why not just tour it? Like I said think it undermines it in my opinion, slightly disrespectful to other riders.
