  • Tap washer size insanity.

    I know the washer size usually relates to the pipe diameter, but even knowing that this particular example doesn't make sense.

    Looking for a replacement washer for a Lefroy Brooks bath taps (LB 1154 I think although they don't have ceramic cartridges so they may be older versions).

    Current washer is roughly 27.6mm diameter and 4.3mm thick with a 7.2mm diameter hole in the middle. Measurements might not be accurate as they were done in haste with a digital caliper.

    Are these just bog standard 3/4" tap washers? Everywhere has these as ~26mm or so.

  • Normally you rummage around in the bottom of the toolbox until you come up with something to poke in the hole. In a pinch you could probably trim one. I'm thinking that the way a washer works it's kind of approximate though. If it's ceramic cartridges you need, good luck.
