Anything with a blade more than 7.62cm (3") or that locks the blade, however long, is not UK legal so a lot of the SpyderCo knives are out and they're a bit pricey. You might have more luck with a "boring old" Swiss Army Knife. They can be personalised and you or your mate can buy a belt pouch for it. Everyone loves a SAK.
Have a gander at this

Yeah done a bit of research on the legality of things, there seems to be a few that meet the legal requirements on heinnie haynes, but the lack of a clip isn't ideal.
Thanks for the suggestion, but not really after a swiss/multi tool type thing as he has a decent leatherman, wanted something that looked nice as much as its functional :)@stevep your suggestion of engraving the blade might be my best bet actually, I had assumed it was a bit of a no no but opens up my options! Thanks.
Knife knoob/lurker here in need of some opinions/reccomendations
Looking for a UK legal carry knife for a mate for his Bday, nothing fancy but was hoping to get the handle engraved so I suppose that has to be metal.
Have been looking at some SpyderCo ones but none of the metal handle ones seem to have a clip which would be a nice feature to have, any thoughts? Looking to spend like £30
