  • Kvass is great. Also partial to Calpis /Calpico

  • Pondland sometimes has Cherry Dr Pepper in, which is quite good.

I remember drinking Cherry Vanilla DP in Merica' a few years ago, always hopeful it will make the transition someday.

  • This stuff is amazing

  • I wanted to start a new ‘cola appreciation’ thread but this is probably better to resurrect.

Lacking Club Mate, Fritz etc, I was just sold this at a local bar in Warsaw. Actually pretty nice.

Afri Cola is still top of the list, close second is Lippe Cola, but they are pretty rare to find outside of a specialist store in Germany, so this Polish option will do nicely in the 30’C sun.

    Any other amazing cola drinkers?

  • Forgot about this thread.
Soda Folk do decent root beer and cream soda (I imagine their other stuff is also good, but I've yet to experience it)

  • Found chinotto San Peligrino in a shop on lea bridge rd last week. It’s still pretty shite compared to Kinnie but will do until I bite the bullet and reup on the good stuff. If anyone knows of a Maltese corner shop in town then let me know!

  • Oooh, I love me some Chinotto.

Tell me more about this Kinnie?

  • Anyone know where you can get Aquarius in London?

  • Kinnie is the soft drink of the gods. I don’t know if it can be easily found outside of Malta/possibly Sicily. You can buy slabs of it off amazon but it’s painfully expensive for what it is.
I like it enough to have paid actual money for a repro tray..

I have come close to buying this sign on a few occasions.

  • Wait, I can only find the diet version available online now. Fucking hope they’re just out of stock and it’s not the sugar tax.

  • Orangina, but must be in a glass bottle. Different ingredients.

  • Isn't that just forrun branded powerade or gatorade or something?

  • I’m all for a bit of Chinotto. The local Italian shop in Swindon has aaaaall the flavours of San Pelli, I had the funny mint one the other day, it was unsettling.

  • The only acceptable San Pellis are(in order):
Chinotto(unless you’re within reach of Kinnie)
    Lemon
    Pomegranate

I’ve had the mint one, proper grim. I’ve also had an Arabic fizzy drink that was mint and fruit flavour: possibly as bad as drinking sick..

  • apparently, there is a Maltese cafe somewhere in London - surely they'd have some Kinnie? sounds right up my street

  • also, this thread made me think of the first time I had cream soda. I was 9 years old in Cape Town, oh what a day:

  • If it’s the one I’m thinking of it closed a couple of years back sadly.
There’s not a huge amount of vegan cuisine in Malta anyway, although, I’m now going to work out a few dishes...

  • Old Jamaica Ginger Beer, also this stuff: (not together that would be weird.)

  • I like the mint San Pellegrino....

  • Now this is a thread I can get into. I've been a big pop fan all my life! In fact, I recently spent two grand getting my teeth fixed due to soda + neglect. Ratty bastard that I am.

I am enjoying the Bundaberg fruits at the moment, particularly the Mandarin but always had a soft spot for Pink Grapefruit bevs. There used to be one around in the 90s called "Seltzer" that came in a clear plastic can.

I went to Japan last September and it was amazing for fizzy drank. The vending machines are chock full of weird flavours and cans with bizarre graphics. I really didn't photograph enough of them but here are a few. The Melon Ice Cream drinks were incredible!!

  • Seltzer! My sister loved that shit.
I was a Quattro man myself.

  • This is my latest liquid crack of choice

  • I like the mint San Pellegrino....

Me too. The blood orange stuff is also very good.

Are there any better ginger beers than Old Jamaica? Other options seem thin on the ground.

  • The only one better than Old Jamaica is Extra Fiery Old Jamaica. Also Cawston rhubarb is boss.

  • Extra Fiery Old Jamaica.

This is a thing? Oh good. I will keep my eyes peeled. Ta muchly.
