So I have this Omega Geneve, it's a bit of a frankenwatch: non original crown, no second hand. I like it but it recently stopped working. If anyone could weigh in with some guidance as to what the best course of action might be that would be sweet.
The chronology of failure is as follows:
When setting the time there is a clicking sound and a bit of resistance running up to each "click", not consistently smooth when turned.
then
Turning the crown to change the time only sometimes are the hands engaging and moving forward i.e 2 out of 3 turns of the crown are doing nothing.
then
The crown no longer engages anything in the movement, spinning freely at winding, time and date complication stage.
I didn't pay very much (€200) for the watch and whilst I like it I don't have any real attachment to it. It would fit into a rotation but still not really positioned to spend a lot of money on a repair. Would this be a pricey fix? Whack it on the bay for parts?
