• I'm looking for some diagnosis by internet.

Trying to set up some SRAM HydroR brakes for the first time. Calipers and Levers all connected up. Tried to put dot fluid in from the caliper end. Syringe very stiff and when I push it harder it just pisses out from somewhere around the caliper.

Feel like I'm doing everything properly :

    • both ports open
    • proper steam bleed kit with their own barbs etc

Any suggestions? Have I crushed the olives or blocked the system and other way?

  • Why would you push harder if the syringe was stiff?! Probably blown a seal...

anyway, I tend to draw the fluid in from the top and not had an issue so far

  • Some don't let you caliper > lever bled until the lever has been tapped a bit.
Whilst holding low to moderate (the only amount you should ever push) pressure on the syringe at the caliper end, mess with the lever a bit. Starting with very small movement around 2-3mm at tip of lever in and out, gradually increasing until fluid starts flowing like it should.
Some lever do it, some do not, no idea why.
