Only bit of garden that is useable, the rest of it is covered in piles of rubble and mud!

as a safe shelter for them.
As a litter tray for them.

Cheers! It is a lovely place to chill. I can take some and send you them. The best part is the decking of course, which along with most of the rest of the hard work was done by the last guy that owned the house.

It's BBQ shelf time again
..is that one of those dispoable BBQ things you can buy at the gas station for a fiver on some posh stand?
Classy!

Yep.
I don't BBQ frequently enough to warrant a big thing taking up space in my garden.
So, I built a fold up / down shelf that is clad in sticky back stone tiles. I then put a disposable BBQ on that stand on top of it and hey presto.
The stand is necessary as the stone tiles are not heat proof enough to take the disposable directly on top. As I discovered when it caught fire.
When the whole thing is folded down, it blends in with the wall for a seamless look.
The shelf is on some click lock hinges that work really well. Apparently they will support 40kg. Which is a lot of sausages.

I planted 300 African Marigold seeds a few weeks ago and it seems that all 300 took.
I don't live in a castle with huge grounds mate, so would like to offer approx 100 seedlings to anyone that wants them. Come take em away. Can put them in individual plant trays if you'd like. SE6

Isn't 'African Marigold' a euphemism for a plant it's illegal to cultivate in the UK?

That's what the local 'Grow King's' shop on Hither Green Lane is for :)

I'd like some (10? 20?) but no time to collect this weekend. Will they still be viable next week? If someone else can take them of course no worries.
Also I was meant to bring and/or collect something else plant-like but I fail to remember what... -

Does anyone know what these are on my plum tree? They look weird, and cover quite a lot of branches. Not sure if they need attention or not...

Wonderful, OK, will pot some up individually for you. Think it was a small jade plant you were after or an Easter cactus? I have plenty of both.
I'm away next week/end so will need to be the week after then. :) -

As above, certainly looks like some sort of scale. One of my hydrangeas gets it. I refuse to use any sort of chemicals in the garden so just scrape them off with my fingernails. They really take their toll on the plant otherwise.

that's very generous, I'll come over in a couple weeks then. Jade and/or Easter cuttings would be welcome additions too, I'll bring over a baby succulent for swaps.

Bleurgh. Thanks both. I'll hit them with a toothbrush as that link says -they're a bit weird looking...

We get them on a flowering currant. If you leave them, they start to make a load of sort of fluffy white stuff beneath them. The ants constantly harvest the mildew from them too. Squishy squishy time!
Only found one so far this year

I bought a couple of tomato plants on a whim recently thinking how hard could it be?
I have a wee pop up green house and have planted them in a grow bag. What do I do now?
Thanks for any advice.

Keep them watered.
Feed them with tomato feed, according to the instructions that come with it.
Do the correct side stem pruning thing - check on the RHS website for information on this. Helpful, but not at all essential, for you to know the type of tomato you have.
Marvel at the wonder of nature.
Eat tomatoes.
(Probably get a bit miffed when you see one pop because you didn't eat it quick enough!)

If you end up with loads of green ones not turning red, pick them and put them in a container with a banana. It'll turn them red.

Appreciated, both.^
Wow - all out!
