while Burnley and Swansea received the lowest number of votes with just one per cent each.
I'm disappointed we were only joint last.

Sarri on his way to SB?
No Rodgers is a "done deal".
Just like Ancelotti was three months ago.
Mike, have I got this right. If I keep saying that Rodgers is coming, I can be sure that he won't?

I think it is a very good appointment.

Yep.
Looking forward to RM wiping the floor with us on Saturday night. I predict 5-2 with a Ronaldo hat-trick and 2 OG's from Milner -

Ancelotti off to Naples which is good.
Made me raise an eyebrow.

Frank Lampard currently favourite to be new Derby manager. Not sure whether to laugh or cry. Big risk if he is our next manager. Any clues from you Chelsea lot as to whether he’d be any good as a manager?

Because he’s Harry Redknapp’s nephew?
I’m a bit surprised that he’s in the mix. I’d prefer him to stay in the youth setup at Chelsea and Morris to became a coach with the first team.

Frank Lampard, West Ham and Manchester City legend, linked with Derby. Not really surprising. Have to question why he would do that rather than go into punditry or management of some Scottish or Spanish side.
-
• #143211
Isn’t he a little tall for Derby?
-
• #143212
Should he not do the Arteta and to a certain extent Gerrard thing, assistant coach, youth team coach, be highly thought of but inexperienced and get job off of that potential and name/club recognition rather than actual management experience in the real world..
-
• #143213
And then fail terribly at management and go back to punditry?
yes. Yes he should. -
• #143214
Yup. I suppose an issue is that Jody Morris is an excellent Youth team coach and with no manager for next year, there can be no first team assistants.
Gerrard has gone off to manage a “big” team with very little Youth management experience. Lampard has been brought up in management and played for lots of different teams and under plenty of managers. He also has a Latin O Level.

I can't see Gerrard working too well in mgmt: "just fucking run around like a headless chicken, foul everyone, and cannon in the hollywood stuff"
Lamps: "get someone to do all the ground work behind you, run forward, get sweaty, make some passes, score goals"
So yeah. I can see why without Jody Morris he might fail.
Latin O level?
Paraphrasing SerAlex: "i've got a 16 year old lad who can speak 5 languages"

hasn't he just played for west ham and chelsea?
lots of managers though, so i understand that bit. good experience of different styles. -

gerrard spent 2.5yrs under brendan's tutelage and was managed by benitez houllier and woy surely some of that managerial pixie dust must have fallen upon him
how can he fail ? -
• #143218
I lol'd at Latin O-level too, exactly how old is fat Frank? They weren't still doing Latin at school then were they? Or did he take it as a 'grown up' to try and up his game and compete with Graham le saux at the Guardian crossword.

According to The Knowledge, Gianluca Vialli is the poshest footballer ever, on account of growing up in a massive castle.

Can’t see him failing myself, the Rangers job is perfect for a young manager looking to learn the ropes - a well run club, patient and tolerant fans and low expectations.

If he learns to sing the Billy Boys, they'll forgive him anything.

Are there people on here without Latin ‘o’ levels or GCSEs?
I am always staggered by how few people have Ancient Greek.

I honestly think that Arsenal have made an excellent decision in Unai Emery. If they give him the platform I’m sure he’ll get them competing again. His Sevilla side were a joy to watch and more importantly he made good players perform better season after season. He doesn’t care much for passengers so it’ll be interesting to see where Mesut Ozil is going to fit in.
