Did some of tge trans Europe trail today, all 30 miles lol. Mostly back lanes with the odd very rough gulley / ravine that would keep a trail bike rider busy. One was too severe on the descent so had to turn back.
Then right at the end before getting back onto tarmac flicked up a rotten log (so rotten it turned to dust) that poked hepco and becker pannier so perfectly in the wrong spot it snapped the mounting hinge lock thing, tweaked the tab on the steel frame in such a way I'm gonna have to proper fix it and left a proper good dent in the front. Pannier had only maybe 5kg inside it Inc a £££ laptop which survived thankfully, thing span off into the undergrowth surprisingly deep.
45 min of zip tie surgery later was on way again.
Can see why hardly anyone uses hepco becker boxes anymore, weak as fuck mounting method.
Trans Europe though, least round Cumbria ain't no doozy!
