Good to know. Having a spare sounds like a wise move if you’re planning on holding onto the bike!

Potential bargain on everyone's* favourite non-Arkose gravé frame... If it's not sold in a week or so and I bet he'll take £200-£250

Isn't it like 300 new?
-
• #3930
Yeah so £280 is a bit silly. But I don't think it'll sell at that price and the seller's put the "Make Offer" thing on so pretty sure he's not really expecting to get that much.

Are those Kojaks 26.x2,00 or 26x1,5?
-

X2.0
Wish they did 2.2s as all big lightweight 26 fast tyres are spendy. Continental speed kings would be ace but £££ for a ratty thing like this. -

Geax/vittoria booze light 26 x 2.3. So good

plus I can always stick the alfine back in or even just convert it to traditional gears if I ever wanted to.
And adjust the bottom bracket drop for extra smug points.

I am however tempted to pick up a spare just in case, and before they stop making them.
It's a standard 54mm OD solid insert, no moving parts, keeps it simple with a clamp-shell BB. No need to buy a spare really. FSA make/made a 54mm, Phil Wood is 54.4mm. Bushnells are 53.8mm, not that you need the expansion feature it offers when you have a clamp shell but you get the picture.

That might be one of the most awkward looking bikes I've ever seen

Untucked is the new tucked?

It's just missing gravel tyres.

And bottle cages.

And some fire 🔥 to sort out the saddle and bar tape.

Gonna go with anti for this one but can't quite put my finger on why...

Looks like an oddly shaped Kinesis aithein

Bars can go >>> as well.

• #3945
it looks gangly
-
• #3946
Hmm, ratio of fork fatness vs tubes and especially that top tube
-
• #3947
And if you're designing a bike to go off-road, why put exposed cables under the bottom bracket?
-
• #3948
I think the inline Thomson seems weird on the long wheelbase...such wheelbase, many controversial, much fork

• #3949
are you suggesting that you have to change tyres to go from tarmac to gravel?
Damn cycling, you so particular -

aesthetically it has so meny conflicting angles. Bar level is slightly down, brake levers not vertical, stem slightly off compared to tt slope. Overally the fit looks like fixies back in the days when people just bought them off the tt lenght and ended up with tons of seatpost, inline post and too low cockpit.
I've had no trouble with it. When i got the bike i took it out to put a hope BB in. The screws had no grease on them at all which was a bit worrying. But I remedied that, put a tiny bit of anti seize on the EBB. Had no trouble since. (I did regrease the bolts again last weekend after the wet winter. Have to say, it does make taking the rear wheel out easier as you don't have to keep retention the chain. Very handy as you dont have to carry a spanner around.
