The right kind of marble is a great choice for a very specific kind of work top: pastry work. I would say not to choose it for general kitchen duties, but if you have it already just embrace the inevitable staining and chipping while keeping it as clean as any counter should be.

This, as an architectural critique, does, to my mind, not sufficiently illustrate the consequences (scope creep alert), but is still an interesting read:

Quick one am looking to get rid of this armchair, had it for twenty odd years. Have no idea if it’s “vintage” vintage or just a reproduction of something more expensive or just passable. If anyone knows what it is or can give me a ball park figure for how much it could go for, it would be appreciated.
Also if anyone wants to make a decent offer for it, feel free...

Genuinely open to getting involved in a LFGSS team entry to this if anyone else is. (I can bring 3D viz to the table, if not much genuine architectural experience)

Genuine interest in the chair, but probably can't afford it.
Where abouts is the chair?
Will it fit in the back of small/ medium hatchback car?
How much would you take?(Can offer £250, cash, possible pick up on Sunday. depending on the answers to my 3 questions)

Interesting. Thank for the link.
Think I might enter somehow, would also be interested in a lfgss group thing but Berlin London is a bit far for the kind of meeting I am interested in.
Also have a wood building engineer person I know. Mmh.But then 90 dollars to have the privilege to work for free is a bit shit.

It is! I missed that bit

Seems interesting, does anybody know if that's $90/team or per person? (I'd assume per team?)

Whoah, possible possibly nowhere else but California.
You have to remember that marble is naturally porous material. Try and keep staining and acid material away. Even water can cause damage if it is left on it as it can dissolve it.
Get it professionally polished and sealed. Then after apply sealed regularly.
Unfortunately cheap marble is plentiful and really poor quality for worktop.
In future granite or one of many manmade composite are more safer options.
