  • Ours will be DIY apart from the roof. Partner's Dad is an enthusiastic joiner who reckons he can largely prefab something and then erect it over a few weekends.

Wasn't originally very interested in sedum but quite keen now.

  • I thought of pre-fabbing at one point, but i didn't really have the space and it seemed much simpler just building in situ in the end. It's great fun - I'd never really done anything like that before and i learned bucketloads. Still standing 2 years later, which is a plus.

  • Thanks! I guessed that must be the case

  • Those lugs on the ephgrave and paris are amazing.
Can I ask about the chain machine?
Is it new in Punjab, it has a lot old UK factory closure due exporting of redundant machines by the ex pats. many people bought liquidated sale items here for peanutd and sent them to India.
I've visited all Punjab and it's a treasure trove of old machinery.
Surely chains will need some sort of heat treatment?

  • Omg... yes!

  • Welcome to the shed thread.

  • You lured me here only so you could say that?

  • new shed land speed record set today - all it took was £13k and 400 bhp

  • Ooooooooohhhhhh, there's a SHED thread!
    @ive2dogs some beautiful frames there!
I'd have them in the house and not my shed!
Here are my 3, the third is tucked in behind the one on the left. Relatively unremarkable in the scheme of things. The gentlemen that we bought the house off was an electrician in the Palace of Westminster (hence the special window addition) so all have lighting & multiple electrical sockets. Need a tool board and vice and pot belly stove! Do have a DAB radio out there so I can listen to the cricket when bbqing.

  • Not a shed but I am fortunate enough to have a spare room for bike tinkering etc. Just tidied everything today. It is perfect for watching cycling while servicing shit.

  • At the start of the summer, I noticed my shed/office was home to some tiny spiders, who kept abseiling down on to my keyboard when I was working. Just spotted one of the buggers and he’s considerably bigger now. Still quite small I guess, but give them all another month or so and they’re going to start giving me the heebie-jeebies.

  • ... I may well have to resort to that. Just seen several more of the buggers since posting!

  • mmm, nice

how did you build these shelf brackets? what materials for the brackets and the shelves themselves? they're really nice and simple, i've wanted something like these

  • brackets are these, no?

  • Caught red handed

  • aha! nice work, ikea detective

  • I am using them wrong tho. You should get the bigger ones if you are using shelves as big as mine. I just had them from my old flat

  • Anyone got a brillant storage solution for rims and wheels? I'm redecorating my garage and have way to many of each.

  • @JesperXT I've been thinking about these from screwfix
    https://www.screwfix.com/p/heavy-duty-brackets-black-500-x-300mm-2-pack/98807
and maybe extending the 500mm section with a bit of wood to make it more 1m.

  • That's pretty close to what I have now. Maybe it is the most effecient way, if I don't go with @Hulsroy s suggestion and just toss it all out...

  • I spent our Constitution Day in my garage, trying to make it into a useful space again. The heir apparent was happy to help out as long as he was paid in pizza.

  • I went through most of the stuff in there. There's nothing that is not needed/useful. Nothing!
