  • Now to take it here:

  • I rode this bike today, it was really good fun - I'd also forgotten that the rims, under braking, make a fantastic noise which is entertainingly similar to a firework rocket shooting into the sky.

  • Ok, I have broken the bike down and packed it, hopefully it'll come back out in the same condition that it went in the bag.

Speaking of the bag, I'd like to spray this logo onto the bag with a vinyl/rubberised paint:

Along with a few of these:

  • What's the best way of making the masks, and what make of paint?

  • That is a lovely thing!

  • I'm so intrigued, why Zildjian? Are you masquerading as a travelling minstrel drummer to claim expenses back on these trips or just to hoodwink the air companies from thinking it's sporty goods?

    Also... packing/ packed pics please!!

  • I think it was Vanmoof who found that marking their bike boxes as widescreen TV sets dramatically reduced damage in transit- I thought I’d try to do the same.

I have no evidence that baggage handlers would take more care of musical instruments over bikes, but fewer people hate musicians than cyclists.

  • such a good idea!

  • Don't think that'll work..

  • Somewhat nerve-wracking.

  • rimowa luggage >>>

  • Is very well built and works extremely effectively? Is a design classic? 20 year old cases can still be fixed whilst you wait in a Rimowa store? Has a no questions asked (official) five year global warranty?

Not finding anything to dislike there tbh.

  • Now in mountains, no death yet

  • the 2nd cafe in trevelez is great (in the corner); avoid the soup

  • I'm amazed you didnt rationalise a matching pair of His'n'Hers breakaways for yourself and Dammette...

  • yeah I meant <<< not >>>, my bad, like them a lot, I wish I had enough $$ for a rimowa

  • I think Dammit spends more time in the air than the average pilot, so his luggage gets put to the test :-)

  • I was buying cheaper ones, they don’t last- and when cheaper is £150-200 it means that the Rimowa just has to last it’s warranty period to pay for itself.

  • Aspirational levels of loveliness!

  • Thanks!

Back to the original purpose of this thread- the tubeless carbon wheels (Enve SE’s 2.2 and Schwalbe Pro 1’s) are performing very well. Under sustained heavy braking they start squealing due to the heat, but nothing other than shameful noise so far observed.

  • Amazing part of the world to cycle in. La ragua is a must and go to the sea! The climb back is amazing.

Also those SES 2.2 weigh 1400g, alu tubeless build is possible at this weight no? With no risqué
