Mudguards are off for summer (or for this week at least).
Here it is in commuting guise.

Mudguards are off for summer ...
Well that's fucked it for everyone then.
Thanks not thanks.

For those that need some Kinesis in their lives:

Mine's never had mudguards fitted. If I fit them it won't rain for at least 9 months.

• #107
Do it!
Your adventures in tubeless and Speedplay haven't been as entertaining as I'd hoped for.

You'll love bending the SKS stays to fit. I look forward to reading about your escapades.

Wait until I get some sealant and/or start riding the bastard.

I don't use SKS, I have some strange French aluminium mudguard that I basically zip tie in place. I also only use a rear mudguard so I have half the trouble of most people.

I now have a Tripster AT instead of a 4S Disc so if anyone wants to swap a 4S derailler hanger for a Tripster AT one that'd be really fucking unlikely but handy :)
Failing that, anyone need a spare 4S Der hanger?

I've turned into a Kinesis fan, on my 2nd one.
Aithein for 4 years, superb everything, handling, comfort, not just a crit bike - a weapon. Clocked up 10,000miles in Austalia on it - then came back to the UK and snapped it on an innocuous commute (at the downtube!?!?)
Now a CX1, purely for the larger tyre clearance (and if I ever give in and do disks) - and yes I dropped the Aithein forks on there to sort the relaxed geometry.Good frames and great value!

I'd take the 4S hanger if you can't find anyone who wants to do a swap. Let me know how much you want for it. :)

£tenner, assuming I find it before the world ends.

Well that was easy, it was buried in my packed tools. BNIB(ag)

Who's routed Di2 in a Tripster BB shell?
There's fuck all room and it's pushing my new BB sleeve all piss.

Anyone using a sleek rack and mud guards on a 4S disc? It's a bit off faff with a shared mounting point.
Tried to put on a Tortec Velocity from another bike and the shape of the stays just doesn't work.
Thinking maybe a Tubus Vega but spendy if it doesn't fit. -

And while looking into it, I see there is now a new 4s frameset with thru axles and some better colours.

Looks like the same dropout as the Tripster has. Which is why when my old one snapped I got the Tripster and not the original 4S with the flawed design.
Removable-lever thru-axles so slightly different.

I see the Tripster has also been updated and there's a new ultra bike thing:

I see the KINESIS RACELIGHT 4S DISC FRAMESET is reduced to £440 at Merlin and Sigma, are there any downsides to this frame for rim brake usage?
-
• #124
Do you have rim-brake Thru Axle wheels?
I'd have thought most TA wheels were built with disc brakes in mind.

No
Nah, they're SKS Longboards with Raw flaps. They work well, but that's my 3rd front Longboard, they tend to snap just above the standard flap, but the raw one is a bit lighter I guess, no issues thus far with it.
