Great to know, and interesting; I guess RLJ'ing is a binary offence, there's no case to argue and easier for RoadSafe to pursue. What an moron.
The camera conundrum is weird. I wish I didn't need them, but seeing as I have them, should I be reporting minor - but clearly habitual - shite driving?....
No need to answer, it'll answer itself in time.

Does anyone know if the Fly12 will record while being charged from a USB power pack?
-
• #780
off the top of my head i can't remember if it was yes or no but 99% sure it was mentioned in the faqs on the cycliq website

Don’t think so but haven’t tried with mine.

hmm, any alternatives to YI 4k?

If it doesn't with a standard cable, it might with an OTG cable (much like a Garmin Edge).

• #784
Thanks, just checked the faqs on the cycliq website.
Can you charge Fly6 and record at the same time?
Yes. You can plug a battery pack in and record at the same time.
Can I charge and record at the same time with Fly12?
At this stage, due to limitations of the systems power management, recording while charging is not enabled on Fly12.

Most stuff will work if you use non-data cables or the little USB data terminators I've suggested elsewhere on this forum.

Downloaded VirtualDub and lightworks and neither of them seem to do what I want in the 29 seconds they've had to prove their worth. The first exported a file that was 20x the original's size and I guess due to lack of video in the second one I don't have the correct codec.
Simplest piece of all-inclusive software (or link to codec too) to trim and re-save a Fly6 AVI?

Cheers, I'll have a look at that tonight. Annoying, coz I already had VLC :)

'i' 'o' to mark in and out.
Edit - Trim

Anyone able to recommend a camera or 2?
Issue is I do ride 4-6h is there anything with that battery life, or half at best?
Need one for under saddle rail and for front. I do have a go pro, so could use that under saddle rail I guess. I’ve 6 batteries for it, so is there something that takenaame batteries? Or what’s the best other option?
Thanks

I think Cycliq last that long, you would need a hefty SD card. And a bundle of cash
-
• #792
Christ they’re not cheap. But if they’re good I could live with the cost. As I’ll get my monies worth.
-
• #793
If you are using it to record incidents the cycliq records on a loop so doesn’t need a huge memory card. IIRC on the front one you can press a button and it will save the previous few minutes and not over write that section of the memory card.

The Veho Muvi K2 claims to do 4 hours on it's 15oomah battery, not too expensive and the NPNG pack comes with a water proof case, although that is pretty bulky.
I will add, the 8gb memory card that comes with it is all but useless, straight in the bin with it!

Christ they’re not cheap.
The older versions may still be available for way less.

Use GoPro with an extended battery?
Something like this - https://www.safety-devices.com/brunton-all-day-extended-battery-pack-for-gopro-hero-p-232.html
So you don’t have to faf with swapping batteries. (I’m sure there are better than the one I linked which was the first on google...)

• #797
Are they essentially the same? Or are the new ones better?
Edit: new ones are better apparently. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.dcrainmaker.com/2017/11/cycliq-fly6ce-fly12ce-first-look.html/amp

Anyway I can’t buy them at that price. So I’ll have to find something else.

fly12 old model is 175 with an out front mount

Still not cheap huh.
Think I’ll look on eBay for 2nd hand one.
That's some result!
