Some racers pics, if anyone is interested.
Doors converted to pull handles, cards done. Needs windows/quarterlights.
Front x-member has been powder coated and mounted, ready for the front end.
Didn’t get as much done as I hoped but had a massive garage clearout, so it should be pretty straight forward now.

Picked this up for £2k, just a regular Cooper, only 69k miles though & seems in good nick. Full sunroof is nice in this weather :)

Thanks chaps. It actually starting be enjoyable and feels like we are on the way.
It is almost a shame that it is a racer. I’d love to see it with a saddle brown interior and wires.
I wasn’t really into MGBs before I drove one they were the last of the little British sports cars that I tried.

Too busy eating, drinking, and dadding to pen anything properly but the drive down was awesome. Bagged one Austrian pass on the way down since we ended up doing France, Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, and then Italy.
A lot of desretricted Autobahn but the Bavarians are fucking nuts. They’ll happily do 120+ on 2 lane sections, flashing their lights from half a mile off to make sure you move back over as soon as you’re done overtaking, and if it’s not clear they’ll brake at the very last second and sit 6” off your rear bumper. Volvo did an indicated 150 with plenty more to go but it was really floaty, possibly because it was mega windy, but it was quite busy so I didn’t want to push my luck.
I was trying to conserve petrol so we didn’t drive >100 for long periods but the outside lane was full of <5 year old VAG, Merc, BMW, and Porsches all doing 100+ ADL. Did see a new 991 GT2 RS doing mad speeds not far outside of Stuttgart. It had epic road presence. I did cheekily give chase but it’s bonkers fast.
Austria was amazing. I’d like to just do a week driving holiday in Austria in mid-summer. The views, the roads, the food, the people, all wonderful. It’s a wonderful country.
Italy has terrible roads in the South. That’s all I have to say about that!!

Fantastic trip mate. I look forward to the first one with the infant later this summer.
Our conveyance will unfortunately be a bit more pedestrian... :)

This thing is stunning. Not really into drift cars but the build is incredible. No shouting and nonsense either.

Awesome! Well done mate.

That looks great. Chapeau.

I think all the pro spec cars are insane in terms of build quality. The budgets are large and the imagination is high.
Have you seen Tuerck’s GT4586? It’s a GT86 with a 458 engine in it.
Although that’s closed roads it’s road legal...

Lovely noise. Though I can't help feeling that the whole thing would be better if he just drove it properly instead of skidding it all over the place.
I wonder what happened to the rest of the ferrari :-D

Someone's driving it around with a Toyota engine in the ultimate twist of MR2/F360 replica irony.

Hello! Long time no posting from me. I've finally got bored of my 15year old E46 compact and looking of getting shot of it for something more fun. Got a budget of 5k or so and want something more interesting/faster/bigger. Perhaps a sporty estate or a hot hatch. Anyone got any tips?
Hmmm.....
Are they related to other illustrious tyre companies such as Roadhog, Trakmaxx, Grip’R’Go and Valuetec perchance?
