Maiden voyage to acquire coffee and pastry.
LBS kindly gave me a spare TL-FC25 (I think the FC stands for fucking crap) so the cranks went on when I got in from work earlier. First impressions - not light, but not slow. Much comf.
Need to dick about with saddle position and stem length. Also obviously needs a front mech. Stupid cloth bar tape is too short. So far I like the shape and all the usable ramp bits of the Noodles, but should be going on a proper ride tomorrow to try it out.

Those brakes + bar ends are such a win
-
• #335
And they work nice and all!
Friction from the full housing is crazy though. Shifts perfectly, but I think I might invest in polymer cables (or bung a load of PTFE lube in there)

Excellent, looks perfect for me, Let me know when I can take delivery?
My only thoughts are that the sar/hood combo looks lengthy and you could do with some flapz
-
• #337
Yeah, have been trying to work out the best way to mount madflapz. Not a lot of tyre clearance! And the way I had them on the last bike wasn't perfect, front one especially
-
• #338
RAW flaps come with some 3M double sided sticky pads which work well and help with clearance
-
• #339
I have a plan to modify my last flaps and do much the same thing, but wrap it around the back of the guard and stick the sides just inside the lip
-
• #340
Looking at the length of those Zeppelins I'd say flaps aren't really needed. You still want to be able to ride off kerbs etc
-
• #341
Truck tarp flaps aren't gonna prevent that. I like riding through puddles with dry feet
-
• #342
Not sure what you're thinking but I've found flaps on the inside of the guards don't work despite looking cleaner. It creates a kind of shelf for crap to build up on and inevitably rubs. If you know this ignore me! Bike looks great as said already.
-
• #343
For sure! Just want it to wrap around the corner a bit to keep its shape better
-
• #344
Front mech yay!
I was going to go for a ride around the broad yesterday, got there, and then remembered I had to go to work, so here is an industrialpiktur of mein fahrrad

You have made awesome.
-
• #346
That's well nice
-
• #347
Really good looking bike you've built!
-
• #348
The rack is built like a brick shithouse. No flex at all, aside from the retrogrouch bars. Waitrose run for reduced booze and fancy single-origin milk, no problemo.

single-origin milk
Does it tell you the name of the cow on the label?

I would definitely pay extra for that
Ooh, what enamel you using?
