A vote for confrontation. Strange one this one, was cycling up to Temple Meads along its errr, driveway I guess? Usually just taxis and buses, I was close to the entrance and started slowing, suddenly a white merc comes past, I didn’t pay it attention but suddenly it was diagonally in front of me, angled toward a left turn, the entrance to a car park but he had to stop cos peds crossing. I almost rode into the back of him, I was so surprised, and almost thumped the car, but he moved so I decided to follow him in.
He parked up and I was able to shout at him as he exited ‘never turn left immediately after overtaking a cyclist, never. It’s really dangerous’. He looked shocked but didn’t reply, so hoping someone who was careless might be less so next time.

Looks somewhat innocuous on cam and is more of a prelude to some dangerous driving but was slowing just enough to allow the car in front of me time to start to pull away at lights without having to completely stop myself and some cabbie just dives along side me in the right turn lane wanting to turn left (?!) and starts pulling across the front of me while i'm sitting in primary waiting to go straight on. it was also wet and there was a cunt of a headwind on so absolutely not conditions to be fucking about in.
i give myself a solid 7/10 for the choons and the 'why you trying to overtake me bruv'.

I was riding up Cedars Road, Clapham on Friday night when someone in a car decided to undertake another car off the lights up the hill. I felt the heat of their engine on my leg as they passed. I often dismiss close passes but this one has stuck with me. I had had a couple of drinks and I honestly am glad I didn't find out what effect that would have had had my attempted catch succeeded. On the plus side, I did note that they used the indicator flash to thank the other driver when they let them in.

Had a sketchy one last night - heading up Cranfield Road in Brockley as I turned onto the road a car was sat on the wrong side of the road talking to another driver (not a good start) then pulled off after I'd passed him. As there are cars on either side I was riding in primary out of the door zone, suddenly I feel the wind from his car as he passed within, honestly, 3 inches of my bars - I look over and see the guy (whilst still only inches from me) driving with his knees, head down, texting. The fact he hadn't hit me was a pure fluke as he obviously hadn't even seen I was there! Luckily I caught it on the Fly6, but glare meant you couldn't see him on the phone. Reported to plod, but doubt they'll do anything.

Had 5 close passes on the last 5 commutes, so much so i sacked it yesterday and got the train and left at 6.30am to avoid the traffic this morning, only for it to happen again. Is it silly season or something, drivers just seem so agro!
What is the forum approved camera? Going to start recording and maybe making a bit of a difference.

10-2 verdict on a murder charge:

I can't understand how people can do this... yea, smashing the wing mirror was a stupid thing to do, but then chasing after them and killing one of them is mental.

I wonder how the facts of that case compared with the similar sounding one in Dalston where the driver chased and rammed a cyclist and was charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving rather than attempted murder.

Yes, there is so often inconsistency. Thread here:

In some ways it is harder to prove attempted murder than murder - for attempted murder you need to prove that the person actually wanted to kill the other, but didn't manage it; for murder you need to show that the person wanted to cause GBH (or worse) but ended up killing the victim

Was in the car and had some bellend in a brand new Merc tailgate me so close on the fast Woodford bit of the North Circular, I've never been subject to driving that aggressive.
Honestly I reckon he might have actually touched my bumper it was that close.
It was pretty heavy traffic and there were cars right ahead of me in my lane so literally nowhere to go anyway.
Caught him on dashcam (with his accompanying wanker gesture), sent to met roadsafe.Just got a reply saying they are going to prosecute, hopefully it all goes through.

Bought a rear camera for commuting and so far no silly behaviour. And then yesterday saw a guy get right hooked as a van dived in to a parking space without checking his mirrors or signaling. Off to buy a front camera.

Really should have stopped to take a reg just now.
Saw a guy chuck a little canister out of his window as I passed him. Fucking got a laughing gas balloon in his mouth whilst driving.
What. The. Fuck.

What's happening with this laughing gas thing? Streets are absolutely awash with used canisters.

I should have reported this as A&S are a bit more proactive these days, but it's so bloody common these days. Coming through pinch point outside a local school last night, not quite as far to the right as I thought I was and a large engine rumble followed immediately by a HUGE Range Rover overtook me at the narrowest point. Fair play to the loony driver for not having me off as he (I assume) was inches from my bars. Lots of shiny metallic paint, super pimp type Range Rover and 666 in the personalised number plate would all have indicated that this was owned by a tool of the highest order so he didn't really need to do the overtake to confirm it. Last time someone tried to overtake me in that same pinch point, they blew out their front offside tyre, flatted the rear and kept on going!

Got an email telling me that the police have issued a notice of intended prosecution against the idiot who close passed me the other day - actually fairly impressed with the police for once!
-
• #8149
Good stuff.
Did you mention the driving with knees and texting?
I would be interested in seeing the police's response. Did they say they'd keep you in the loop? -

Interesting.
Just not sure what prevents these laughing people from utilising a bin or appropriate recycling facility.
Some chunt in front of me on the train watching videos of other chunts drag racing on UK roads and driving like bellends on the motorway.
Down with this sort of thing.
