Okay, thanks! Just worried I will cock it up and end up shelling out for another set of lights.
-
• #654
Its easy. Theres loads of info online. or ask here if you get stuck.

• #655
It’s pretty hard to screw up that badly. Unless you reduce the wires until the outlet but even then they can probably be replaced?
-
• #656
I like gorilla tape for securing the wires to the frame, it's thicker for protection, and sticks solid.
-
• #657
So all your dynamo / charging cabling is run externally?
-
• #658
Measure twice, strip once.
Use good wire strippers. This kind:

I use 3M electrical tape. The electrical tape of champions. Accept no substitute!
Unless you've already got something else :)

Yup only up the inner side of fork, to front line. Then sinewave is in top tube bag.
-
• #661
Mine is all external now, since the Tripster doesn't have top tube routing like the 4S did.
-
• #662
Would you have put it inside the TT if you could have?
Just ordered an in frame bag. Much excitement.
-
• #663
Yeah, of course, unless I had any inkling that I'd be swapping it to another bike I would run it internally.

Dude. Route spoilerz.

• #666
Joy - one less thing for me to worry about and faff with :)

I will start route planning in July (maybe August). I will never win a TCR but I will have a lot of fun complaining about how stupid an event it is while thinking about how to get into the next edition...
-
• #668
Feel for me. I keep getting automatic entry, so I feel obliged to return ;) Would be rude not too...
-
• #669
I still don't know if I got in because I'm a mouthy idiot that the orgs feel brings a little fun to the party or if they did the 'top 20 get a free pass' thing?
-
• #670
Maybe I bribed them, because I just like to see you suffer like a dog?.
-
• #671
You should've come to the finish line of the 25 last weekend.
I admit though there's a certain soul-crushing misery to the long distance groin grind. -

Struggling a bit with how to prepare for some outdoor camping, especially as I've never done it near these Alp-y type things. How cold do you expect it to get at night? Assuming you're not at a ridiculous altitude).
-
• #673
outdoor camping
Yup. I see it now.
-
• #674
Don't sleep at altitude. There is no need. Descent then sleep.
Temps at night will vary from 0deg to 20deg.I was riding in shorts and jersey at night from slovakia on.

Cold enough that sleeping in an open bivvy is difficult. But if you pick better spots than I used to you can get quite a bit warmer with the same bit of kit. The more walls and preferably some kind of roof the better.
Avoid the mountain top, avoid the bottom (ooh nurse) and stop where you'll have to start with a climb rather than a descent or you'll freeze even more.
Yes he will.
