Have you thought of forming a self-help support group with Tim Dowling,

Ah, it's good to know there are other people out there facing such testing times.

Patch wouldn't drink from a bowl either, she wouldn't even drink from the water fountain if I forgot to turn it on after changing the water / washing it. Have you tried different types of water fountains?

I’m finally back home after being in Australia, NZ, Italy, Denmark and Sweden - and am immediately pressed into use as a cushion.

A friend (is a vet) suggested adding a little bit of tuna juice (i.e. from a can of tuna in water) to the fountain. Worked with getting ours to trust it.

Mouse head and intestines on the floor this morning, thanks James.

Good luck!
Note I only put in a dribble of tuna juice and the water turned yellow and started to foam within a day.

We've got this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00ODFMUF6/ref=mp_s_a_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1525096416&sr=8-12&keywords=cat+fountain
Spendy but has a large tank and, more importantly for you, the water drops rather than runs down something. Definitely sounds like a tap.
Maybe put it next to / near the tap?

Dizzy would only drink running water from the bath or the basin, even tho I’d got her a cat mate fountain. In the end I had to put it in the (dry) bath before she would use it.

Ours will only drink out of glasses. We have one dedicated to them in the corner of the living room but if you leave your own on the floor or coffee table, there'll be a furry bastard face in it the second you look away.
Well, the fluffier one also drinks out of a stagnant bucket or puddles on manhole covers but at least then he's not fucking up my refreshments so he can have at it.

This actually reminds me that whenever it rains, Patch would go and drink the dirty rain water from the garden despite the fact that she also loves her water fountain.
Nothing beats nature, innit!

My god, it's so ugly! Also, it's exactly what I need. Space bidet ordered, thanks!

It's certainly not winning any design awards but both our cats love it.
One uses it more as a shower facility then comes and butts her soaking wet head against you, which is nice i guess.

Who cares what it looks like, your fluffy overlords accept it.

So how do I stop my furry bastards from trying to help me, if I am taking something like a laptop apart, jumping on the table, re arranging things etc
Tried working :
When they are asleep,- They awaken full of vigor and twice as attention seeking.
Closing the door - They cry outside the door, that soul lamenting cry of the banshee or team up to open the door by one jumping to grab the handle and the other pushing the door.
Free standing table - bah they find ways of getting on the table as it feels like the cat krypton factor. Have made a card border and that was demolished.Should I just rent a new flat sans le chats?

This is my life every single day when it’s been raining. I have to keep a crappy old throw over my bed at all times, which just makes the bedroom look bad, but otherwise the duvet gets ruined.

shut your whinin you lot - you get a cat, thats what they do, they make the rules and you live with them whey you get one.
;)
Does anyone have any experience with a cat that refuses to drink from a bowl? Mine will happily sit in the sink and yelp for 30 minutes waiting for the tap to be turned on. I'm torn between resisting in order not to encourage it, and turning the tap on for the sake of my own sanity. I've tried the fountain bowls to no avail. The noise is seriously testing our relationship :(
