  • A lovely sight waiting for me this morning on Instagram. First time I've seen it all together!

  • Srs business! Great job this

  • All the custom! Love it.

  • fuck yes

  • Really cool, what diameter tubing did you use for the rack?

  • Ooh, dunno actually. Gav told me, but I've forgotten. Bigger than normal, maybe 1/2"

  • Ignorant question: does adding all these tubes at multiple mounting points stiffen your fork?
I know it's already probably quite stiff, with the disc tabs. Just wondering.

  • I guess the Salsa fork is pretty stiff anyway, straight blades and disc.
When the racks are on and there’s extra weight from panniers and stuff in the basket the additional stiffness would compensate for this. And vice versa when you take it all off.

  • The Salsa CroMoto I have is actually one of the most springy disc forks I've ever used. If this is anything like that (and it should be more forgiving, really) then if the racks stiffen everything up, it's probably for the best, when loaded up.

I don't know how much that will be the case, nor really where most of the flex occurs. The rack itself probably gives a bit anyway. Will be interesting to see if I notice anything.

  • Pickup on Monday!

  • Mate this bike is fucking ace... Love this thread! White is amazing. T

  • Great! Powder coat or wet paint?

  • Powder. As much as I'd like a full wet paint job, lotta monies and the bike is going to get beaten up.

  • Good choice.

  • Jellybeaning it yourself?

  • Getting my friendly local sign-painting forumenger to do it :)

  • Is it time to ask if you like the saddle yet? :p

  • I might actually have tried it this time next week!

  • Excited to see this

  • ^This!

  • It looks really good. Can't wait to see it with jelly beans.
One small niggle - doesn't the rear mudguard get in the way of the rear light?

  • Fuxk that is sweet. Bars are wrong tho.

  • Nah, it's high enough up, consider how high most people's eyelines are on the road. Also it'll reflect a lot off the guard
