I remember that, I was up helping Malcolm that day
-
• #17578
I was busy being tired and grumpy and missing the club record by an even closer margin 3 weeks after the 24hr.
-
• #17579
1.233 now, not 933.
Northerly. Dafuq. Where's my prevailing SW? I hate fast to the turn then grovel home.

Wind forecast depends on what site you look at. Take the NNW that weather.com are suggesting.
-
• #17581
Actually I rode it that year too. I remember you passed me then the traffic lights went red
-
• #17582
Yeah looks pretty poor conditions now.

Yes, the universe hates me.

Told you. Pile of shite weather.
Looks like it might dry out a bit before I start but I'm not going to bother with my crazy chain.
Now I really want to test my aeroz with an arse bottle...It is what it is so I'm gonna go out with everything and if I don't get it, I'm focusing on ultras and the 25 can wait.

North wind is pretty good I think. Some shelter on the way back.

Daft question: my skinsuit has got a massive neck opening and it is going to be cold tomorrow morning. Not worn it on a cold day before.
What do people do, wear a base layer underneath? -

Ride harder.

• #17588
Joking aside, yes, base layer underneath helps.

• #17589
How did you get on Hippy?
-
• #17590
51:05 I think, according to what he posted on Twitter earlier.
-
• #17591
Although, given his Twitter time lapse habit, that could be last year's time.
-
• #17592
Yeah, 51:05
Just dumped the data and it was off more power than I did the 50:02 in 2016 and was this year's 25mi power PB so it wasn't like I slacked off.
Actually I did slack off, when I noticed I'd gone over 50 and still had half a mile to go. -
• #17593
I didn't race any CTT events in 2017. Hmmpf
-
• #17594
No, andyp was right the first time. If you racing anything less than a 12hr you should be working hard enough you don't notice the cold until you stop*. For a 50mi you're probably producing as much heat energy as one of those little bar heaters.
*says the guy that had an asthma attack because he went for skinsuit only in -2C Borrego...

For early seasons tt and races I wear a Rapha Marion baselayer. Perfect for keeping warm when working hard.
Also a good warmup before (on trainer so you can get warm) and don’t leave it too long between finishing warm up and starting race.

Is that in the Lincoln Green colour scheme?
-
• #17597
One day I’ll be able to type a sentave without auto correct busting my balls.

Anyone got good suggestion for a small gel squeeze bottle?
-
• #17599
It depends where you'll stow it.
I've got one from High5 which is fine in a jersey pocket.
If you want to tuck it up your skinsuit leg, then this looks to be a better shape and isn't rigid. But £15 can >>>>.
If it's for your [cough] tri-belt, then an offset nozzle would be better.

No pockets, no tri belt. On the bike somewhere.
Nik B in the Nat 12 a few years ago would be the biggest piss take when it comes to adding fairings, etc.
