  • Out in Singapore visiting some family and brother in law set me a challenge of finding him a decent bike for cheap...

  • Excited to join the club! Picked up this 264 road as my new commuter (160 quid, madness!). All veloce 9sp. Feel previous owner has gone with the approach of if its blue it matches but it has ended up with clashy wheels, frame and saddle.

Next step is new pedals, relacing veloce hubs to some new (open pro?) rims (black) and finding a longer 1” stem... Now can someone please buy my caad 9 so i can crack on ;). Also if anyone wants to trade a blue selle italia flite for a black one lemme know.

  • hi all, i'm going to sell my lovely Look 585 complete.
how much should I be asking? I was thinking around £600?

    More photos here

  • how much should I be asking?

£5000, just to make sure that nobody buys it from you, thus avoiding a lifetime of regret.

  • More than in the link at the bottom?

  • Joining the club. Picked up this frameset for a ridiculous price over the winter as a Christmas present for myself. Currently running it with shitty 10 speed 105 and cheap wheels as I'm a poor student, but in the long run I aim to upgrade virtually everything on the bike.

It's my first CX bike and probably the most fun to ride of any bike that I own. People do a double-take when I ride past down the local MTB trails on what looks like a Look road bike :P

  • That’s lovely! What size tyres can you fit?

  • Cheers! I'm rather proud of it.

I've been running it with 33s because it gives me mental mud clearance, but I reckon you could go up to 45s for drier riding. Maybe even 50s if I put on 650B/26" wheels.

  • Nothing shitty about 5700

  • Agreed, but this particular specimen is very beaten up. I bought the full group off some guy in Bristol for £100 after he'd used it on a commuter since new. It's woeful compared to the 5800 on my CAAD 8.

  • Gna throw it out there - if anyone has a pair of hsc forks with a 1" steerer 220mm long I'm interested.

  • What size is it? Large?

  • Unfortunately (for me), yes.

  • Anyone after a Look steel mountain bike before I list it on the main forum?

  • :)

  • Finally picked up a pair of 1” look forks. Bit concerned about the area of tape on them though... hoping it’s not a dodgy carbon repair?

  • Anybody know if these are a bargain or not? Is the 765 any good? Was looking for something for cycle to work, which I could add a little extra too.

    Look 765 Ultegra Road Bike - 2017 - £1,249]

    Look 765 Ultegra Pro Team - 2017 - £1,399

  • Absolute bargain, I'd say.

  • Just seen the 765 disc full 105 for £1500 at Merlin - are these any good?

  • Is the 765 any good?

It's a Chinook. Not as much cachet as a Tunisian Look, but as good as any other Chinese frame whose design and quality control is under the direction of a reputable company.

  • are these any good?

    It's a Chinook...

    :)

  • I rented one in the Alpes a couple of years back. It was very decent, although unsuprisingly not as good as their pricier offerings. I found the position too upright though, even with a slammed stem, so check the numbers before you commit.
