Thanks both. I have to reseat the crystal as it had been put on slightly off centre, stopping the crown from sitting flat. So when I did I just gave it a careful wipe with a cotton bud to get the dust/crud off. Left it as is otherwise, I don't mind its age showing, it is over 40 after all.
