Time to give this bike a makeover. It's good as it is, really, but I sort of miss the feel of it being as light as it was when I was racing it. So during winter I sold the heavy Ultegra/Archetype wheels I built previously and started looking for something else. That got me thinking that maybe I could shave some weight other places too. I'm not going total weight weenie, but the following will be geeky stuff.
So starting with the saddle/seatpost combo. I've always liked both Aliante and Thomson, but it was obvious that I could make a difference here. 460 grams, half on each. So I took a look at what I already had, and found the old S-Works carbon seatpost. Never liked those graphics, so sanded it down and gave it a couple of coats of satin black. Much better.
