Shimano BL-S705-L (Alfine Di2 LH brake lever for drop bars) is the same shape as modern mechanical STIs, so if you run cable brakes and mechanical shifting you can have (nearly) matching levers.

Bit of a strange addition in all my time racing cross I don’t think I’ve ever once thought I’d need one.
Once you’ve grabbed the bars shoulders usually in the middle of the top tube.

Ah that's interesting, wanting to run hydraulic unfortunately.

Saw this at Bespoke. Undeniably awesome paint. Loved it. Although I wasn't sure about the shoulder strap I did love how it was fully integrated.

I maintain, just get an Arkose

I don't think there's an elegant solution then. I wish Shimano would do a hydraulic/mechanical 1× groupset.

Best arkose I've seen so far
Wait, so it's not an Arkose...? I was bamboozled.

The shoulder strap was just the first sample the other is at the post office in York...
If any one is wondering why its got the shoulder strap... it is because I tore the ACJ ligament in my right shoulder and now my collar bone protrudes from the shoulder and it's really uncomfortable to carry the bike. Also that injury is the single most painful thing I've ever done.

Won’t it still be on the wrong side?
It’s fucking baller I’m just intrigued.

It's a tidy bit of design. I had to get down on the floor and stick my head in the frame to see how it was mounted :)
Awful injury is awful. Glad it hasn't stopped you riding. -

you can easily build up a bike with a shimano 1x group, i did this with my cdf725

Radical.
Without a dropper (or lowering your saddle before you "send" a "feature") the danger is that you end up going over the bars like this (edit: it was supposed to link to 49s)
though as the saddle rams you up the arse and sends you flying over the front. You can see the saddle shunt that guy in the slow-mo. My friend ended up in hospital with two broken arms and a couple of hours missing from his memory after forgetting to lower his saddle on a mountain bike. The problem is exaggerated on "road" frames due to the geometry and particularly the saddle-to-bar dropObviously what you were doing looks plenty safe (though still plenty gnarmac) but I wouldn't ride any proper MTB trails on any gravel bike without dropping the saddle personally

If you need a dropper you need a mtb.

What LH lever do you use?

Or you could learn to jump a bike properly

I don't want an argument, I'm goingt o do something else

Tomac did alright no?
-
• #3745
No, but it was annoying, I couldn't get dressed properly for the first week so lived in a dressing gown & sling, then when I went back to work I realised that I couldn't take the T-shirt off I was wearing, so I had to get my colleague to help me take it off and button me in to a shirt. When I went to see the specialist after 4 weeks he said "it's healing well and you don't need to wear the sling", it was one of the most liberating moments of my life.
... Anyway it's not the only injury I've ever had, and the most annoying thing about being injured is not being able to ride.
And back to talking about the Arkose.

Is there a forum/hipster approved rear rack for bikes with 142mm rear spacing and disc brakes?
Went to fit my rack to my Orro the other day and funnily enough it didn't fit...

Is there a forum/hipster approved rear rack
Rear racks are not hipster approved unfortunately, but I'm sure there is a forum approved one.
-
• #3749
Ha - quite. I know the hipster spectrum goes bike packing > front rack > rear rack but my fork doesn't take a rack and I need to carry a tent around so bike packing is out.

Sounds like new bike time to me.
Best arkose I've seen so far
